But....But.....CNN said it was true!!
I don't know what we fall under but as architects/landscape architects I don't think we fall under the "contractor" umbrella. the money stops now, but so does the work, so we might take a hit the first month. but usually its not an issue as we don't bill a whole lot of time to those projects on any given month.I read that in most cases this week is the last pay date. I guess it depends where you work?
I read outside contractors take a hit during shutdowns? Again, does it vary?
Well, if @AirVol hasn't had any problems, I guess no one has problems with not getting a paycheck. You wishing that it’s so bad isn’t bad at all. I’ve been thru several shutdowns, didn’t affect me at all.
Do you bill/get paid every month? Or is it tied to phases of the project?I don't know what we fall under but as architects/landscape architects I don't think we fall under the "contractor" umbrella. the money stops now, but so does the work, so we might take a hit the first month. but usually its not an issue as we don't bill a whole lot of time to those projects on any given month.
Hilarious to me you believe this.
You think 2/3 of the senate would vote for this?
Why not try impeachment instead?
Liberal fantasy.
we do every month. which is why we could be hurt for a month. but once it shuts down we stop.Well, if @AirVol hasn't had any problems, I guess no one has problems with not getting a paycheck.

Yes, I do believe it. As this thing goes on it is the Congressmen in highly affected districts and Senators in the most affected states that will feel the pressure. 800,000 families without a paycheck coming in screaming at their Reps? Damn right they'll override a veto.
Don't count out impeachment.
This alone could sway the Senate.Republicans don't have strong support from federal employees.
You're wrong on both counts.
If the impasse is resolved before mid-January, the traditional start of tax season, it most likely won’t have a major impact on early tax filers and, even if the shutdown continues, once the IRS begins accepting tax returns, people can begin filing.
But they won’t get a refund until the government reopens, which could put pressure on the Trump administration to end the impasse.
I was talking to one of my GM’s today. I was telling her that I think this will be what causes Trump to fold. Any significant delay and he will be pushed hard to move off of his wall. This alone could sway the Senate.
WILL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN IMPACT MY TAX REFUND? Tax refunds could be delayed due to government shutdown
