The shut down thread

So we supposedly have this 'shutdown' that affects mostly 'non essential' personnel. Today, Jamie Diamond was on CNBC talking about how this shutdown will adversely affect earnings of corporate America. Does anybody else think all this is more than a little fishy?

Trump is not a critical enough thinker for something like that. He's more of a checkers novice in a chess game.

Depends what he said.

The longer the shutdown goes the more disgusted I become with many of my fellow federal employees. I know a couple who pull a family income of around $250,000 in Florida. Thats living large. They are on Facebook ginning up sympathy by saying their kids are going to pull extra hours to help pay bills.. Another union guy where I used to work is organizing food drives to collect food stuffs so him and the other feds can eat like they are a bunch of down trodden homeless people. Sad.

If you are getting a Government Pay Check and you don't have enough money in a savings/checking account or just stashed away at home in case of emergency that could get you through for a while then that's on you not the shutdown.

Also I would say a lot of these people live in pretty nice high end homes with great kitchens etc.. If you don't have some food in your fridge/freezer and cabinets/pantry then again that's on you.

And not one sign of positive support from unions "representing" their "starving" government members. I guess it would dilute the message about Trump tyranny if the unions are seen helping people fend off starvation and ruin for another day or even a few hours. I'd bet that if the same people went on strike, they with union support could last months without financial ruin and starvation.

Tell them to hush and do their “fair share”. The vast majority of government workers have acquired the entitlement mentality from getting more than they deserve.

Man this was a good joke. Nobody here play spades or hearts besides AM64??

I had a great time playing hearts again for the first time in many years over Christmas with my son's new in laws. Great game and so much better than a solo computer game.

I think most private employer people have little or no sympathy for government employees that aren't drawing a paycheck right now especially since the government has promised them back wages. So a lot of them have been sitting on their hands for a month drawing a future paycheck.
Find that kind of deal in the real world.
