The Star Wars 8 SPOILER thread.

Disney has turned the franchise into a multi-cultural mish mash of senseless rotting garbage.

Rose? Are you kidding me? GTFO

Finn? His character is a clown.... they should have allowed him to hari kari himself in the giant cannon

Snoke? Who the heck is that guy? .... oh yeah.... a waste of CGI

The code breaker? After given specific instructions on the guy they need... Finn and Rose... the two sappiest characters in the whole film settle for some unknown stuttering homeless bum.... WTF

Let's not destroy the things we hate, but save the things we love..... GTFO of here with that crap!!!

I could go on and on..... this film was weak

Unless your Holdo turning your ship to crash into the FO fleet. Wonder what she would say about that?

Rose the most irrelevant character with the stupidest line in the movie.

Probably thanks for saving the rest of the transports.

My guess is that, like Rey, the next generation of Jedi will be forgotten children throughout the galaxy.

I don’t know that the point is about forgotten children. They just went back to the slave kids on Canto Bite since it was already in the movie. There was a point of reference to revisit.

My take was first, the kids playing with a make shift Luke figure was the sign of the legend of Luke Skywalker inspired a “new hope” throughout the galaxy. Then the force grab was merely to show there are young force sensitive users ready to be found.

I don’t think that particular kid will come into play again. It was more or less just a sappy way to end the movie.

Pretty sure this is correct.

Maybe that was hastily typed on my part. I just meant that the next Jedi won't likely be of the traditional bloodlines. Maybe the Force is growing and inhabiting less likely subjects? Maybe it will be up to whoever is left to search out the chosen ones?

Agree 100%. If Finn could have finished his kamikaze run, it would have been the most redeeming moment of the film.

Yeah this trilogy is obviously wrapping up the Skywalker bloodline.

It actually harkens back to the way Obi-Wan describes the Force in A New Hope. It’s everywhere and surrounds us and binds us together.

I enjoyed the movie, but I agree with this.

A stormtrooper giving his life for the greater good could have been incredible writing. That would have people talking about this movie for a decade since it would have set an unprecedented “no character is safe” concept for Star Wars.

Game of Thrones has taught us the audience eats that stuff up.

And here I thought the stupidest line in the movie was when Rose said something to the effect of "it was all worth it" when they set the horse-beasts free, despite at the time thinking their mission had failed and all their friends plus the rest of the resistance was about to be killed. Yeah, but the horse-beasts got to be free for a night. Totally worth it.

I'd forgot about that.

That's true. Not only did their mission fail but it was the entire reason the Rebel transport ships were blown up. Had they not gone on the stupid mission they wouldn't have met Benecio Del Toro, he wouldn't have snitched them out to the FO when he was caught, and the FO would have never found out the Rebels were leaving the ship.

Yeah that was pretty dumb; not to mention those horse-beasts will be rounded back up soon and go right back to what they were doing.

Rose..yeah..um..her sister flying the bomber in the beginning and sacrificing herself..ok..still pointless..but what was up with those bombers? Were they actually using old B-29 engines to fly in space? Wtf.

Finn has become filler fodder for the movie. He should have be allowed to make the ultimate sacrifice..but now hes got a chubby girlfriend he probably didn't want..He is officially the third wheel non comedic relief now.

Snoke..lots of build up then POOF gone like a fart in the wind. Guy had Emperor like powers...

Reys family - dead child trafficking drunkards.

Luke strokes out and becomes a force ghost...probably from some metals poisoning from drinking unpasteurized rock walrus milk or whatever the F that green stuff was.

They had a perfect chance to kill Leia off but NO..gotta try and force one of the most unimportant OT characters to the forefront while ignoring the fact she could barely talk or move her face from all the plastic surgery..and that chain smokers voice...

I think Abrams got back on with the movie because his original story literally got shredded and shot to sh!t and he has to salvage something.

I saw it a second time and enjoyed it more than my initial viewing mainly because I couldn't possibly be disappointed any more. I think the future of the franchise will see force users come about without any rigid structure like the Jedi or Sith around which sounds like we might start seeing guys who do some good and do some bad..or "the grey" force type people.

There was not really any build up to Snoke. Only in fan theories was there build up. In TFA he was just a hologram who barked out orders to Kylo and Hux. He was always Palpatine-lite, who btw had about as much back story ROTJ. He served his purpose which was for Kylo to kill him and become the top dog... something Vader never did.

Umm sorry but calling him Supreme Leader Snoke actually deserves more than what we got. Snoke is a disaster along with the rest of this film

He gave us the exact same amount that Palpatine gave us in the OT (Who btw was never even called Palpatine in the OT). The only difference is Palpatine died so Vader could redeem himself while Snoke died for Kylo to usurp his position.

Pretty much; he was barely mentioned in ANH, only referenced in a line where Tarkin tells everyone on his cabinet that "The Emperor" dissolved the Senate.

He appeared as a hologram to Vader in TESB, just like Snoke did to Ren in TFA. And he was killed by Vader in ROTJ just like Ren killed Snoke in TLJ, albeit for different reasons.

People seem to forget Palpatine wasn't fleshed out at all until the prequels.

I want a snoke stand alone movie or a book

I would say a book or comic book is 100% Guaranteed.

He served his purpose in this trilogy in the exact same way Palpatine served his in the OT. It just happened a movie sooner.

Any problems with Snoke really lie squarely on Abrams and the writers of TFA for introducing such a redundant character. If anything TLJ cleans the slate for a truly original ending to this trilogy.

Absolutely.

That whole casino scene was one big political message. Yawn.
