The Star Wars 8 SPOILER thread.

Yup... and as I’ve said before, I appreciate the prequels more after watching them with my kids and seeing the wonder in their eyes.

I guarantee most of us who were kids when the OT came out had parents that rolled their eyes at all the Star Wars hype back then.

I still remember my Grandfather taking us to see ESB and falling asleep in the middle. My sisters and I were like “HOW DO YOU FALL ASLEEP DURING THAT AWESOME MOVIE?!?!?”

i was 9 when TPM came out and i loved all the prequels at that time, im 28 now and can see the flaws in them but still watch them and enjoy it.

My dad was in his 40s when the OT came out. I'm pretty sure he only liked them because A) He liked Harrison Ford's Han Solo character and B) because I liked them and he would get me all the toys and games and all. If he didn't have me or if hadn't of liked them, I doubt he would have either.

He didn't even watch the prequels until they came on TNT last year. He had heard they sucked but his reaction was "didn't seem that different than the other ones".

I'm sure when he finally gets around to seeing these before he dies he'll say the same thing about them.

Just so everyone knows, the bombs dont fall using gravity. They are electromagnetically projected out from the bomb bay. So even though there is fire and noise and in-atmosphere type flight in space, you can all rest easy knowing that there is someone out there who considered that bombs dont fall in zero gravity.

I got all the available SW movies on Blu-ray for Christmas, except Rogue One, which I'm going to buy after the new year. I'm going to make January through February Star Wars watching time, as I play to watch all 8 previous movies, the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon complete series on YouTube, the 2008 Clone Wars movie and series on Netflix, the Rebels series on the Disney app, and then the Dynasty shorts on Disney's YT channel. And by then I'll be ready for TLJ on Blu-Ray/VOD.

Also burnt, another question.

What's the deal with the 2 Clone Wars series? I know both are considered canon but do they overlap and/or contradict each other at all? I know the 2008 series is much more developed and longer, but it was always weird to me that they did a second CW cartoon only 5 years after the first one.

The original one that aired as shorts takes place immediately following ATOC. Anakin still has his buzz cut and padwan braid. They do introduce Asaj Ventress in that one but I think they do contradict some of her backstory later in the other series.

Why they waited on the next one? My guess is to just keep milking the franchise after the prequels ended. LOL.

Saw LTJ again last night. I liked it about the same. Space Leia and Canto Bite bugged me a little less since I knew they were coming I guess.

One thing that did jump out at me this time was the nod to the original Star Wars parody Hardware Wars.

Anyone else catch that.

Yes they do but the first Clone Wars series (the Genndy Tartakovsky version) is no longer canon. It came out before ROTS so having the benefit of hindsight, Lucas created a version that was more true to what his vision of the Clone Wars was.

Space Leia actually bothered me less the second time. Also, the Hyperspace Jihad scene was even more breathtaking the second time. That is easily one of the best shots in all of Star Wars imo.

Yeah that was better the second time for sure. When you are ready for it you really got to look around and soak it in.

I saw a headline where the scene was confusing audiences so AMC theatres started putting up a notice that there is an intentional all silent scene in the movie and not an audio malfunction.

Think how poetic that scene could've been if Leia had been the one to do it!

People are dumbasses.

If the audience plays along and stays silent, that scene is literally breathtaking. Something about the sudden lack of sound but bright flash of light makes it feel like it sucks the air out of room. It was a strange but fantastic sensation both times I have watched.

Yeah. It was bad enough we didn’t get a scene with Han and Luke. This one seemed to want to get at least one scene of Luke interacting with every remaining OT character.

What is your plan for your Mega-Marathon? Order of release or chronological?

If Chronological are you going to squeeze in the Clone Wars shows before watching ROTS? Then Rebels before RO or ANH?

Then we wouldn’t have gotten a single scene with her and Luke.

Well yeah, obviously some things would've had to have been shifted around. Then again, the scene with her and Luke wasn't exactly earth-shattering anyway and considering that it really wasn't him, but rather a force projection, would it have really been THAT big of a deal?

Dude... it was him. Mark Hamill was on screen with Carrie Fisher.

It may not be considered canon but the beauty of the Tartakovzky series is if watched in the right order, it actually complements the CGI Clone Wars series quite well with little to no contradiction at all. Chronologically, you watch TPM and AOTC movies. Then you watch Season 1 of the Tartakovzky Clone Wars series, up to something like episode 21 (I think) of season 2 (right up to the introduction of General Grievous). Then you watch the CGI Clone Wars series all the way through, then you go back to the Tartakovzky series and finish it to the end which with Palpatine's kidnapping and the beginning of the space battle above Coruscant.

Another huge problem I'm having with Disney era Star Wars vs Lucas era Star Wars is the villains as a whole SUCK compared to the Lucas made films! They are completely unimaginative. I mean, nothing will ever top Vader of course but not even including him, are you really going to compare villains like Snoke, Phasma, Kylo Ren, and Hux to Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Jabba the Hut, General Grievous, Jango Fett, Cad Bane, Asajj Ventress, etc?

I haven't tried it in that specific order but Ill have to give it a look, thanks.

I've watched the show through multiple times now and I do not get everyone's fascination with Cad Bane. He is super "meh" to me.
