The Star Wars 8 SPOILER thread.

I haven't tried it in that specific order but Ill have to give it a look, thanks.

I've watched the show through multiple times now and I do not get everyone's fascination with Cad Bane. He is super "meh" to me.

I like Cad Bane. Would be cool to see him and/or Hondu show up in the Solo movie.

I like Hondo much better, frankly. What do you (and others) like about him? I guess I'm just missing it because I think I'm seriously in the minority.

Hondo is kinda jokey but Cas Bane is more serious. Two sides of a similar coin.

I like the look of Cad better than Hondo too.

Another huge problem I'm having with Disney era Star Wars vs Lucas era Star Wars is the villains as a whole SUCK compared to the Lucas made films! They are completely unimaginative. I mean, nothing will ever top Vader of course but not even including him, are you really going to compare villains like Snoke, Phasma, Kylo Ren, and Hux to Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Jabba the Hut, General Grievous, Jango Fett, Cad Bane, Asajj Ventress, etc?

I don’t necessarily disagree although I do think Kylo is being fleshed out pretty well to stand up there with some of the better SW villains. I didn’t like Hux in TFA and TLJ didn’t really change that for me. Phasma had Boba Fett potential but they dropped the ball with her in TFA after building her up in the advanced marketing. She was ok in TLJ and I kinda hope she survived her fall.

But to be fair Boba Fett never did anything to deserve his status as such a great villain other than look cool. In fact I would argue that the prequels origin story of Boba hurt the character more than being bumped into the the Sarlac. The fact that he was essentially just another clone always bugged me. The Clone Wars helped remedy some of that but the underlying concept never washed away.

Some of the other characters you mentioned from Clone Wars took multiple appearances over a few seasons to flesh out enough that I truly cared. I didn’t care for Asaj at all until her origins were explored much later.

As for Disney Era, I thought the Inquistitors from the Rebels along with Agent Kallus have all been pretty good original villains.

I think they wasted Phasma but if she shows up in the last one I’m going to facepalm. I get it’s SW but she fell into a void of fire.

That's a totally fair point regarding Rebels. To be honest I kinda forgot about that series as I don't have Disney XD anymore so I haven't kept up with it. Kallus is definitely a good villain and while he's not a Disney creation, Grand Admiral Thrawn is great on that series as well!

I liked the first inquisitor that was in season 1. However I didn't like like male/female inquisitors that followed nearly as much.

I haven't tried it in that specific order but Ill have to give it a look, thanks.

Here's the exact order you should watch them...

Episode I

Episode II

Tartakovsky's animated Clone Wars series 2003, Volume One (the first 20 "chapters")

Tartakovsky's animated Clone Wars series 2003, Volume Two - ONLY until Padme sees Anakin's scar for the first time. After that, there's a significant time skip in which the 2008 series takes place. So, this would be about half of Chapter 21.

The Clone Wars CGI Series (All 6 seasons plus the pilot film)

Tartakovsky's animated Clone Wars series 2003, Volume Two - start from where you left off, with Obi-Wan being awoken by dripping water on a battlefield. So, the last half of Chapter 21 through Chapter 25.

Episode III

Also FYI, when you get to the Clone Wars CGI series, for some inexplicable reason some of the episodes aired completely out of order, so here's a link showing you how they are arranged in the RIGHT chronological order (ignore the "Access Denied" link title, you can view it)...

Semi related: I have never been more hyped only to subsequently be let down more than from seeing General Grievous in CW and then in ROTS. As an impressionable 15 year old, that **** was nothing less than a complete betrayal.

I never understood why people feel the need to take the time to make posts about things they apprently don’t like, and make sure everyone else knows it.

Hey VSF..

Watched ROTJ with my kids today. Force ghost Obi-Wan definitely brushes a hanging vine out of his way as he walked toward Luke. I supposed that demonstrates just a bit of solid form when appearing as a FG.

It also seems like there are levels of appearing too. Just a voice, hazy image like on both, or appearing solid on Dagobah. I guess just chalk it up to those inconsistencies we have been discussing.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I paid attention to Yoda in TLJ the second viewing and he did keep a very faint blue tint the entire time. It almost seemed to disappear when he was contrasted with the fire in the backdrop. So he wasn't completely full like I thought the first time.

I noticed that it was almost gone against the fire in my second viewing too.

Finally "forced" myself to go see this today. Nor sure what I saw.

Parts of it were very good. Parts, really bad. Snoke? What the hell? Who is he and how did he show up and get power only to have KR ambush him.

I didn't have a problem with Luke as many have. I had a much bigger problem with Leia. Felt forced and the being blown out into space thing, ridiculous.

For a 2.5 hour movie I still thought it felt rushed and all over the place.

After I saw it I thought it was a decent movie. After it has had time to simmer and sink in, the more pissed I got.

I was the same and then I saw it again. Its much better the second time. Anyone even semi on the fence should watch it twice imo.

He also sits down on a rock.

So the Han Solo movie is coming out in May? I thought it was coming out in December like the others? And strange that there hasn't been any trailers or anything. The only media I've seen on it is some random stuff on social media.

That doesn't seem like a very good sign.

I think Ron Howard reshot the entire thing. Rumors I read were the guy playing Han is a terrible actor.

Fingers crossed it’s decent but I think this might be the worst box office performing SW movie ever.
