It sounds like they're going to bite the bullet and just get it over with. I don't have any other explanation for them releasing it so soon after after the last Star Wars movie considering how much they've had go wrong with this one.

I had never heard of him but he had supporting roles in the movies Rule Don’t Apply and Hail Caeser and I thought he did pretty good. Of course Christensen was a Golden Globe nominee before his SW movies so that may not mean anything.

The things that jumped out at me were that he really didn’t look like Harrison Ford that much IMO, which I guess makeup can fix some, and that he appears to be significantly shorter than Ford.

Even of it’s not great, I’m bummed it’s not being released around Christmas because we’ve made going to see a SW movie a Christmas thing for 3 years now.

Question for the hardcore SW guys...Are the Stormtroopers in ep 4-6 clones, or had the Empire moved on from them by then?

Fun fact.. one of the Clone Commanders that served under Anakin Skywalker in Clone Wars has been retconned into ROTJ. He is one of the Rebelson Endor. Old guy with a white beard.

I’m a Han Solo fan, but it seems to me it would be a story that would be tough to make exciting. Smuggling and gambling just doesn’t seem like it would be “Star Wars”. Maybe there is something in the cannon that would be action packed, I just don’t know enough about it.

I’m really really hoping they make the Obi Wan stand alone. That could really be bad***. Some sort of Jedi-centric movie made in the mode of Rogue One would be sweet.

Also, over the holidays my kid and I watched Rogue One again. I think I’ve decided it’s my favorite SW movie of all time with ESB a close second.

I would be so much more interested in a Sith movie than a Han Solo movie. There are so many different Sith too that have cool backgrounds, it could be awesome if done right. My favorite that I have read about is probably Darth Bane, but I think even a Darth Maul story leading up to Phantom Menace or Palpatine leading up to him becoming the most powerful Sith and his training under Darth Plagueis and everything could be so awesome. Han just seems like a good secondary character to me, but a pretty boring main character, but I guess we will see.

I think you could have a fine Han movie. The SW underworld is just as fascinating as the Jedi stuff too me.

The hard part is replacing Harrison Ford. This isn’t like young Obi-Wan vs old Obi-Wan. We met Han at around 30 years old and this movie he is going to be about 25?

The said a few months ago they were planning one, and Ewan McGregor has said he'd do it. They'd be stupid not to make him Kenobi again, because as I've said he's one of the few things that is great about the prequels. Plus they can't make a "young Obi-Wan" movie because we already saw him in the prequels. We don't need a trilogy or anything but a movie about Obi-Wan's time between Episodes 3 and 4 would be pretty good. A movie where he attempts to find displaced Jedi that were able to escape would be interesting, and watching him avoid the Empire.

Also this is my SW geek talking, but as a way to further signify the end of the "old" SW storyline, I'm hoping in the last one we get a scene of force ghost "cameos". I'm going to assume Luke will return as one to likely torment Ren and continue to guide Rey, but I'd like a scene where maybe Luke is talking to her and to give her more perspective or information or whatever that Yoda, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Qui-Gonn all show up, maybe even Mace Windu.

Probably won't happen but I think it would be a neat way to tie it all up and give SW a pretty cool geek out moment.

Its definitely my favorite of the new films but I cant put it ahead of the original 3. I still dont think Jyn Urso is a very compelling character, but I did like Krennick and K2SO. Plus the Vader scenes were badass! Heres how I rank the films...

I think the reason I like RO so much is that it didn’t go overboard with the “clean aesthetic” or CGI. It’s dirty and grimy like the originals with updated special effects worked in nicely (final space battle, etc). It also had decent acting, comedic moments weren’t hokey, and Donnie Yen worked great in his role.

Something like that with more Jedi/Sith action would be awesome.

Other than the terrible dialogue, I think that's my biggest beef with the prequels. Lucas relied WAY too much on CGI. In that area at least, TPM feels like the most SW movie of the 3 because he at least used some actual location shots and sets. But AOTC and ROTS was like watching a video game. He couldn't even have shots of them walking down a hall without it being completely CGI. It was way too clean.

The Darth Vader scene at the end puts Rogue One into instant awesome status.

There were rumors a couple months ago that Christensen was supposed to have a cameo in TLJ as a force ghost, none of them held too much weight but it got me excited at the prospect of him and/or any of the others you mentioned having just a little bit of screen time in episode 9

Finally saw it last night. It had some pretty dumb Star Wars moments that I've come to expect, but I had no problem with where they went with the story, however I feel like every installment makes me more and more confused about how the force works.

I keep saying a trilogy based on the Jedi-Sith Wars would be money.

Though please keep Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams the eff out of it.
