The group who has lived long enough to have contributed more. Who will have contributed more in 40 years?
Ok Percy let me be clear. I am against any political message from any professional athlete or coach when they are in the process of executing that sport. It has no place. If I agree with it most likely Ill shrug it off more easily yes. But I will still recognize it has no place. And your context for me being a snowflake due to their message is invalid. You chose to shrug it off. Meh. I chose to tell them stfu and play. Read above. The content of the message is irrelevant and not triggering anything. And thus the hypocrite comment is invalid also!
Now threre are situations where sports and messages intersect. For example the military support in NASCAR. That is a core message in the sport and everybody toes the line in the talking points.
Stating it's invalid without proper reasoning rings hollow, especially within the context of your positions on feelings and snowflakes outside of this topic. I've demonstrated what I needed to. You may continue contradicting yourself now.
We have absolutely no idea who will have contributed more in 40 years because we have no idea what it will look like. It cannot persist in its current form. Plain and simple.
Edit: or... see post above too.
If the Super Bowl "stops being fun" because a guy takes a knee during the anthem, that says a lot about the viewer, IMO
Have you been assured by the government that you will get no benefits? How about all the people who paid in all their working lives and died in their 60's?So boomers gave us Medicare
They pay into it
They realize we're upside down on entitlements and still drastically increase Medicare under W
They get benefits until they die
Millennials pay into it
Millennials don't get the benefits
What was the point again? That BB's aren't entitled?

Of the two groups, which has the ability to plan for the inevitable failure of all those entitlements? If the millennials are counting on SSN and Medicare, they are truly idiots. So boomers gave us Medicare

I had no say in this plan. Sorry my stance doesnt fit your narrative but gimme my money back and well call it even.
And Ive never felt society owed me a living with my doctorate in ancient non spoken languages with a minor in middle American stone pottery history which I incurred 100k in debt in getting.

I don't know who that might be. I don't think the .gov really cares that much about professional sports other than the tax revenue it gets, but go on with your thought.Edited:
You're directing that question to the wrong side. Ask that question to the people that believe sports are the entertainment arm of the govt.
Medicare started in 1965. The boomers would have been in their 20s. The greatest generation started Medicare. And their parents started social security.
I'm really tired of the subject, myself, but heard an interesting comment from a caller on one of the stations this morning (not MSM). She said it angered her that Trump demanded a show of patriotism like this when his entire schtick has been to contravene and reject political correctness, whereas this is the ultimate in that.
Interesting observation.
