Every single word of this goes both ways. Just as not every Trump supporter is a "racist redneck," not every Democrat is an "SJW loser." Just as many people supported Trump because they don't want to be on the same side as some SJW, many people supported Democrats because they don't want to be on the same side as some neo-Nazi. All of that reasoning applies to both parties; what you're presenting as critical thinking is more like arbitrarily picking a side, just like most everyone else.
Still spinning what the veteran said......
I don't know a lot, but I do know that I catch a lot of flak for expressing my opinions, something you are now very familiar with. I also know you support the military "God Bless Our Troops" is written on the football that you and former 49er teammate Colt McCoy signed for one of the charities I work with. The football's currently sitting in my parents' house; my dad bid the highest at the charity's auction.
That moment meant so much more to me than even playing in the game did, and to be honest, if I had noticed my teammate sitting on the bench, it would have really hurt me.
Im not judging you for standing up for what you believe in. Its your inalienable right. What you are doing takes a lot of courage, and Id be lying if I said I knew what it was like to walk around in your shoes. Ive never had to deal with prejudice because of the color of my skin, and for me to say I can relate to what youve gone through is as ignorant as someone whos never been in a combat zone telling me they understand what its like to go to war.
Even though my initial reaction to your protest was one of anger, Im trying to listen to what youre saying and why youre doing it. When I told my mom about this article, she cautioned me that "the last thing our country needed right now was more hate." As usual, shes right.
There are already plenty people fighting fire with fire, and its just not helping anyone or anything. So Im just going to keep listening, with an open mind.
I look forward to the day you're inspired to once again stand during our national anthem. I'll be standing right there next to you. Keep on trying De Oppresso Liber.
I call 'em like I see 'em. You could do the same if you would take off your Trump sanctioned rose-colored glasses.
Trump's fragile ego could not handle the no-shows so he acted like a five year old and took his ball and went home.
Fox News' "oops" moment occurred because of their political agenda. The news came out about Trump taking the invite back and their employees, who harbor resentment and prejudices against black people and think Trump is right on this, just went into the archives and found photos of Eagles players kneeling, which they assumed were during the anthem. They assumed that because of their political ideology.
They did the right thing to apologize, so I give them credit for that.
What they really need to do -- and which will not happen -- is ask themselves some tough questions about themselves and their politics yet again interfering with a basic reporting function.
(Note: I am not saying that other networks don't make the same type of mistake, a/k/a MSNBC or CNN. They certainly do and should also do some self-reflection on that. This episode with Fox making such a huge and obvious blunder is just a really stark example of it.)
I don't think that Luther understands the depth of our hatred for liberals' arrogant attitudes. He just thinks that he hates Trump.
How ironic that your talking about how offended you are by the leftist losers that get offended by every little thing.Im the same way. Trump has made the Left even crazier than I thought they were.
The Left thinks that all the people who voted against them are racist rednecks. They are not. The people supporting Trump are not necessarily supporting Trump, but going against all the crazy people against him. I cannot stand what the voice of the Left has become... A bunch of SJW losers who have to be offended by every little thing that they think can be misconstrued. People are tired of that. You arent being progressive, youre being a pu$$y.
Championship visits to the White House are a great thing. It's just TRUMP that is ruining it. (That should tell you something)If the majority of the players didn't want to visit, why have it in the first place? Maybe he is posturing just a bit in cancelling the visit himself, but the players saying they didn't wasn't to visit were posturing as well. It goes both ways.
Maybe all future champion visits should be cancelled if all they're going to be used for is making a political statement. Enough of those come from politicians that I personally don't need to hear or see them from athletes, celebrities, comedians, etc. If you so truly want to express your politics to the national audience, run for office.
