The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

The kneeling controversy was basically over and would have faded away.

But he resurrected it to provoke his base by creating a toxic cake out of their abject racism, resentment at having that pointed out to them, resentment that wealthy black athletes who were otherwise living the American dream had the gall to protest something at all, and then placed the "And its an insult to our country's military" cherry on top.

His ignorant and easily manipulated base fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

Reminds me of this quote:

"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

That's because there was never a president that was so bad they felt the need to make a political statement. That is the obvious take away.

Luther, you are not this stupid. I know others will swear you are, but you're not. This isn't on Trump and you know it. Blame Trump for things he deserves to get blamed for. That at least is respectable. This...this is just foolish.

I get why the narrative is steered that way but damn it amazes me that people still think that the kneeling has anything to do with disrespecting the anthem.

I’m the same way. Trump has made the Left even crazier than I thought they were.

The Left thinks that all the people who voted against them are racist rednecks. They are not. The people supporting Trump are not necessarily supporting Trump, but going against all the crazy people against him. I cannot stand what the voice of the Left has become... A bunch of SJW losers who have to be offended by every little thing that they think can be misconstrued. People are tired of that. You aren’t being progressive, you’re being a pu$$y.

I hate to break it to you but the right is full of snowflakes too. NFL kneelers case in point.

There's some truth to that.

I'm floored by the NFL's timing to announce anything at all regarding the anthem policy, let alone the half-assed policy itself.

Evidently the others are right and I am this stupid because I 100% put this on Trump.

It amazes me that people still have to explain why they are kneeling. If your messaging sucks this bad, you need a new message and/or platform.
