The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Championship visits to the White House are a great thing. It's just TRUMP that is ruining it. (That should tell you something)

It's players deciding they don't want to go because Trump is the POTUS that is ruining it. It's their attempts to turn something that should be a great thing into a political statement that is ruining it. Trump hasn't ruined it. That's just your own political bias poking through again. The sad thing is, you're smart enough to know I'm right, just too stubborn to admit it. Another case of demonize Trump no matter what, actual facts be damned.

How ironic that your talking about how offended you are by the leftist losers that get offended by every little thing.

The left occasionally offends me. They often annoy me. They're the crying baby in the movie theater. My sympathy is outweighed by wanting them to shut up so I can watch the movie. I wish I could slap a pacifier in their mouth to quiet them up for a little while.

Don't worry, I feel the same about the right sometimes. Not as often, but sometimes.

I read your post. And your attempt to avoid the obvious comeback to your remarks about Fox news was rather weak.

The Eagles didn't sit or kneel during the anthem, state run tv a.k.a. ''Faux"News"ran a picture of players kneeling..... in prayer! Pure propaganda. Shameful.

Players have gladly attended the championship ceremonies for decades. If the president wasn't a member of their same party, it was no big deal. That is no longer true with Trump. What is different? You say it is the players. I say that it is Trump. As soon as Trump is no longer president, the championship visits will return to normal.

Players of the past didn't try to make political statements by boycotting WH visits or kneeling during the anthem. That's what is different. I would have thought that was obvious.

Kids got locked up in cages under Obama's presidency. What else you got?

You could also argue Trump despises the NFL, for reasons dating back long before all this anthem nonsense.

The kneeling controversy was basically over and would have faded away.

But he resurrected it to provoke his base by creating a toxic cake out of their abject racism, resentment at having that pointed out to them, resentment that wealthy black athletes who were otherwise living the American dream had the gall to protest something at all, and then placed the "And its an insult to our country's military" cherry on top.

His ignorant and easily manipulated base fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

I'll ask the question since everyone thinks they are making a point about the Eagles not kneeling.

Is raising the black power fist any different than kneeling?

That's because there was never a president that was so bad they felt the need to make a political statement. That is the obvious take away.
