The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Kinda like when liberals bad mouth southerners by calling them uneducated, and deplorable. Then sit around wondering why they lost? Your side is just as bad screaming peace and tolerance, then pitching a fit when someone disagrees, or chooses to believe something different. I'm independent, but more conservative, but I haven't banned anything. You guys live to lump everyone into the same mindset, but get offended when it's done to you.

I am an independent. My side is America

Another one that doesn't get the fact that there are far more than two sides to an issue. Ever wonder why we have so much divisiveness in America? Look in the mirror

Absolutely if the church were to promote that as an acceptable behavior and it was pushed into your face every time to stepped inside the doors. I would exercise my right to go seek another church.

Every time you turned on a game especially early on in the season that's all you had thrown into your face with folks defending it and the NFL essentially going silent on it making it appear acceptable.

Nobody watches football to have all of this political stuff shoved in your face. They watch football (or any other sport) to get away from all of the political stuff.

With these guys being in the limelight they have a multitude of avenues to express their opinions and make a difference in the world outside of game day. To me it may have been a noble cause but they chose a poor way to promote it.

You must not be watching the games. This is a ignorant characterization of game day. No one is throwing it in your face. If it bothers you as to what someone does for two minutes prior to the game, then you never really liked it anyway and shouldn't be watching. The NFL hasn't thrown it in your face. Your post displays an extreme reactionary position that lacks credibility and has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with partriotism

Like I said, it's remarkably stupid to condemn a group of 1600 for what 20 of them might be doing for 2 minutes prior to the game.

You identified your own problem........

Can you offer a rebuttal that has any credibility at all?

I didn't think so. That's been my position for the last two years hearing all these ignorant conservatives voice their selective indignation and at the same time, trying to act as though they have some sort of monopoly on patriotism despite not really understand it

You do exactly what you accuse others of doing.......I will let you try and figure it out on your own......

If this didn't bother folks and it wasn't thrown in peoples face I don't believe we would be having this conversation.

NOt buying into your silly psychiatry. When you have nothing to offer, change the subject

You say that people are labeling the entire NFL for the actions of a few......what do you do with conservatives on a MUCH bigger scale.......class dismissed....

I disagree. Reactionary outrage. It's silly to claim they've thrown it in your face. If anything, the opposite is true. Trump and Pence made themselves look like fools over their political outrage of it

Most actual game broadcasts don’t even show the national anthem, and Jim Nantz or Kevin Harlan or whoever is calling the game most likely won’t talk about it at all. CNN or people on social media might, but the idea that you can’t watch a game on, say, CBS without being beaten over the head with politics is absolutely ludicrous. People seek out reasons to be outraged and then act like they had no choice

Same with redzone for me. I dont watch Thursday or Monday unless the dolphins are playing.

it has little to do with the kneeling and most to do with normal life routine of being a parent.

I'll skip the first ten minutes of redzone so I dont have to hear about kneel cams

Not a parent, but the thing is that I'm preoccupied with other things.

Yeah, that's the intelligent position. Condemn a group of 1600 people over the actions of less than 20.

Conservatives don't understand how dumb they look when badmouthing the NFL.

I ask this question often to knucklehead conservatives: Would you stop going to your church if you found out a couple of your congregants were having extra-marital affairs?
You don't even have to go that far. Most would call themselves Christians, yet Jesus said if you love me, keep my commandments. Yet look at how much reverence and worship they give to a flag...

Both sides have more than their fair share of snowflakes and hypocritical stances.

This false left-right paradigm is destroying this country.

Most people just can't pass up an opportunity to virtue signal about how much more of a patriot they are than you or anyone else is... these are your typical right wing snowflakes.

Your beef isn't with the league or with the players then. Your beef should be with the networks like ESPN that not only report on this 24/7 but really do engage in social engineering and propaganda. They are the ones that are blowing this out of proportion and at the same time triggering the right wing snowflakes...

NFL owners did the right thing. Allow them to stay in the locker room if they don’t want to stand in respect for 3 minutes. Then, take their political views outside on non-work hours. No one wants to see this political divide in sports. JMHO.

To your point the NFL’s media partners aren’t showing the players kneeling. You have to seek out their protest. It’s fake outrage.

You can seek it out on Fox News...course the players might be kneeling to pray and not for the anthem, but that doesn't matter when people want to buy/sell outrage.
