The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

But just because there are a few bad seeds among the cops DOES indict the entirety of police. Gotcha.

Nobody is saying that. Who do you think is saying that? Nobody is trying to discredit the causes that police support because some cops are bad. That's what you're doing right now with NFL players.

Time to stop funding the school.

Brilliant.

Punishing kids for your perceived transgressions by the adults sounds like exactly what's needed.

We'll show those kids who's boss, let's do this.

Says one of our resident white guilt fraternity members.

Why are you so threatened that my beliefs on race don't fall in line with yours? You're the mirror reflection of a BLM member calling another black an Uncle Tom. You dismiss my ideas by negatively labeling them, in place of valid discussion.

Damn, I must be guilty since you've found a meme. Maybe try defining white guilt for me and showing me where my posts are consistent with that definition.

You went out of your way to change a post by Rasputin_Vol, a black poster, which said that police brutality doesn’t resonate with most people to tell him that it doesn't resonate specifically with “white” people and that it certainly resonates with “people of color”.

You went out of your way to “Correct” a black guy -who had included all people- and remind him that he knows about police brutality, but in fact white people don’t. All to show him that you, a white guy, knows the plight of the black man while he apparently didn’t.

It was hilariously pathetic. And I’m still laughing at you.

So threatened. So scared. Lmao. White people bad. All others good.

Everything has been handed to white prople. Not earned.

In fact, I now remember that you had no answer to why America is so superior to Mexico other than muh laws! It had nothing at all to do with the people and culture.

Thank you for your years of racial contribution. Lol

Meh, I don't think anyone would be pleased with whatever type of protest they could have come up with, to be honest. I just don't think police brutality resonates with most people.
I don't know.... I think the more instances they see..... and they're are a lot out there ..... minds may be changing some

You really took my last sentence to heart. I would try to change the subject too if I were you, but the players earned their fame and thus, their platform. If your hard work makes you famous, it's fame that you "deserve," whether or not people are happy about it.
But not the platform. I disagree that the National Anthem during a football game is a deserved platform.

It's a semantics argument, but in general, when people say "they have a platform," they mean that they have a large number of people who pay attention to them. They earned that.

Said differently, the anthem isn't their platform; if I replace "they don't deserve their platform" with "they don't deserve the national anthem," it changes the meaning of the sentence. The time during which the anthem is played is the time during which they have elected to use their platform.

So in theory, according to you, every NFL player should have the same platform right?
