The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

So should NFL players be able use their platform to show support for police officers if they so choose?

Sure. I think they mostly can already, but if you’re referring to the uniform policy, I think it (like most things the NFL does) is ridiculous and misguided.

Elway on Kaepernick as an option for a vet backup QB spot: “Colin had his chance here. We offered him a contract. He didn’t take it. So, As I said it in my deposition, I don’t know if i’ll be legally able to say this, but he’s had his chance to be here. He passed it"

- Elway was referring to the deposition he gave in May in the case Kaepernick brought against the NFL alleging that the league, the owners, and coaches have “colluded” to keep him from pursuing his football career.

NB4, " I'm sure they low-balled him"

I believe that offer was before he started protesting. And it was part of a trade not FA. And was for $12M less than what he would make with 49ers. But yeah, they made an offer.

I was reading an article about the Steelers game to see how Dobbs did. At the bottom in the various notes is a section labeled NATIONAL ANTHEM and it lists what happened before the game related to the anthem. Not sure why that is a relevant news note other than if your fantasy league gives points for it.

All they would have to do to show support for police officers would be to stand for the flag.
Good point and this illustrates how stupid the kneeling is. Entitled athletes are taking knees in a show of disrespect to police officers everywhere. You know, the same police who keep people safe on a daily basis. I would be willing to bet these same ones kneeling would call the police or 911 if they needed help.

This doesn’t mean anything. They’re pretty much the only option, that doesn’t make them perfect

I can't believe the Elway thing is getting press. It's irrelevant to the convo
