The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

What if people kneel?

I will kneel to protest the lack of diversity on these NFL teams. Why do the biggest, strongest and fastest get to play pro ball? What about the rest of us? We are willing to work just as hard as these guys. Why do we not get a chance to play and draw the big bucks? Change the rules now!

5-6 years removed from the game and he has a bad showing? Is that a surprise at this point?
He's also 34 years old and could just be past his prime at this point. Honestly he could have played in the CFL or another league which would have at least allowed him some playing time. And could have maybe given these other leagues a boost in ratings.

He was getting run out of the league 5-6 years ago due to lack of productive…. I don’t know why people thinks he would be better now.

He had 16 TDs and 4 INTs has last year playing in the league. Not bad at all considering how awful the 49ers were that year. Plus from what I remember his career INT % was very low. I think most teams just decided not to deal with the drama he would bring at the time.

I've yet to hear anyone knowledgeable on the subject say he would be better. I have heard plenty say he is better than a lot of backups
That’s his issue…. He was like Jimmy G….. San Fran was trying to get rid of him…. The rest of the league did not consider him a viable starter… Colin wasn’t interested in taking a huge pay cut to carry a clipboard…. He has shown that time and time again…. Don’t know why anyone cares about this guy.

He was getting the Jimmy G treatment except he had even less value… Colin wasn’t interested in a huge pay cut to sit on the bench.

I think he also opted out of the final year of his contract in SF. He could have at least started there for another year. So much of this is his fault.

He was scared that he was going to get benched. I remember at the time that teams were saying they had figured out his cues and it was getting much easier to shut him down. They were able to adjust to him and he wasn’t able to pick up on their adjustments. He was a very physically gifted athlete, but lacks in the brain department.

He opted out because 49ers told him they were going to release him.
Yeah….. he was getting cut just like Jimmy G might…. Colin doesn’t want to play…. He wants to be the NFL martyr…. Still don’t see why anyone cares what a replaceable back up qb does?

I love it when people invent motives for others and then absolutely convince themselves 100% that is what's happening. Your theory flies in the face of Occam's razor. You don't realize how much this hurts your credibility.

How about he didn't want to take a pay cut (I believe on a 1-year deal) to play for a new team and decided to test free agency because that's what most guys (who put up solid numbers on a terrible team and still want to play football) would do in his position? Naw...clearly he didn't want to play at all. He foresaw that he would get blackballed. Naturally, he was thrilled by the idea of not playing sports anymore and becoming a martyr.

Imagine him sitting in a smoke filled room in 2017 thinking to himself "...and then Nike's going to give me all this money. Muahahahaha."

There is no way this is what he was going for.
