The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

He was scared that he was going to get benched. I remember at the time that teams were saying they had figured out his cues and it was getting much easier to shut him down. They were able to adjust to him and he wasn’t able to pick up on their adjustments. He was a very physically gifted athlete, but lacks in the brain department.
SF also struggled with their OL in those years.

I love it when people invent motives for others and then absolutely convince themselves 100% that is what's happening. Your theory flies in the face of Occam's razor. You don't realize how much this hurts your credibility.

How about he didn't want to take a pay cut (I believe on a 1-year deal) to play for a new team and decided to test free agency because that's what most guys (who put up solid numbers on a terrible team and still want to play football) would do in his position? Naw...clearly he didn't want to play at all. He foresaw that he would get blackballed. Naturally, he was thrilled by the idea of not playing sports anymore and becoming a martyr.

Imagine him sitting in a smoke filled room in 2017 thinking to himself "...and then Nike's going to give me all this money. Muahahahaha."

There is no way this is what he was going for.
I don’t think he had some elaborate plan…. I do think he likes the attention( personal opinion) I do feel like he has shown a lack of interest in taking the pay cut to be a back up…. He does a lot more attention seeking things than just kneeling.

How many othe back up QBs do we spend this much time talking about? Why do we care so much?

You tell us. You offered a detailed opinion of it

He really on had one bad year and that was his second to last year. I'm not sure what happened that season but it was when Harbaugh was no longer coach. Chip Kelly was the coach in his final season and he played well. The team was just awful. Kaepernick also is tied with Tom Brady and Russell Wilson for 5th all time in career INT %.

At this point in his career he can either start off as a backup in the NFL which would be the best option for him financially. Or he can go to the CFL or XFL where he'll have the best and most likely chance to be a starter. If he does well then perhaps he can boost the either league's ratings.

Yeah….. he was getting cut just like Jimmy G might…. Colin doesn’t want to play…. He wants to be the NFL martyr…. Still don’t see why anyone cares what a replaceable back up qb does?
He also made more money off his "activism" eventually. So in the end he ended up doing okay financially.

Signing him doesn’t mean he’ll make the team. Yeah Haslam doesn’t have a clue about running an NFL team but I’m going to guess that the NFL was putting out incentives (like not fighting too hard to have Watson suspended for a whole season) for a team to sign him.

The QB situation for the Browns over the years has been completely atrocious. They signed Johnny footfall in 2014 and he turned out to be one of the biggest QB flops in NFL history. Took Baker Mayfield number one overall in 2018 and recently parted ways with him after he could not get the job done. They signed Deshaun Watson who can actually play but has to sit out for six games due to his sexual assault legal troubles. Now with a cherry on top the Browns bring in Kap who has not done squat in nearly 7 years which in football time is an eternity. It would be solid gold if he won the job over Brissett who also sucks btw.

The Browns are eternally screwed. Most of it is self-inflicted which makes it even more comical.

I feel sorry for that Browns fan with all the QBs on his jersey.

Goodell must have something on Cleveland. He made them waste $5 million on a "woke" tax.

This guy will bring the team together like greedy dysfunctional relatives fighting over a millionaires will.

So now Pittsburg and Cleveland have QB issues. Look for Cincy and to a lesser extent Balt to run away with this division.

Let's face it Cincy is young and built to win the Superbowl. Now they two surefire wins.

They suck so bad at QB selection, it makes you wonder how they missed out on Ryan Leaf. He would have completed the hapless set!

Nightmare scenario on draft day is that you're a QB and get drafted by Cleveland. It's like no matter how good I was in college now I officially suck!

He obviously got more votes than anyone else did so what kind of dumb nitpicky **** is this

Feeling insecure?

The headline or what the guy wrote does nothing to dispel the notion that he didn’t separate the locker room. If the winner is just the guy that got the most votes, then he may have gotten 35 votes. Some other guy got 14 and another guy got 10. Maybe some of those 24 people could stand Colin or the choices he made.

Joe Biden won an election. So the US is one big cohesive unit now?
