The Tiger Woods saga

Prayers needed for retired 13 time PGA Tour winner, and 7 time Champions Tour winner Bruce Lietzke. He has just had a Stage 4 Glioblastoma tumor removed from his brain. It isn't curable, and prognosis is usually not good, even though he is recovering well, and expecting to be released from the hospital shortly. I sold Bruce an old muscle car about 30 years ago. Really a nice person.

I think the phrasing of his statement yesterday is interesting:

When healed, I look forward to getting back to a normal life, playing with my kids, competing in professional golf and living without the pain I have been battling so long.

That's great he talks about just living life and playing with his kids before golf, but "old Tiger" probably would mention returning to professional golf first, right?

Jack didn't have the benefit of Dr. Tony Galea when he set the record. If Tiger broke it, it would be looked at by some like Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire hitting home runs.

Hank Haney and Steve Williams have pretty much said the opposite.

How do you think that they would be received if they came out and said they thought he was juicing? If they were at all smart, they would deny it. That would make all 3 of them look bad.

Hell, he might be looked at like Sosa or McGwire if he wins any professional tournament ever again, much less several majors.

The guy's body (back in particular) is totally broken. He has had trouble walking and bending down to pick up his kids at various points during the last couple of years. That's being unable to play golf at even a recreational level, much less a professional against the best players. Four back surgeries. It's difficult enough to recover from one.

Go to the public 9-hole at Percer Warner Park in Nashville most any morning that the weather is decent and you can watch some of the most stove-up gents in their 70s and 80s break par every stinking round. Kind of makes me sick and amazed at the same time.

I'm still convinced that he juiced although I don't know why. It wasn't like he wasn't a great player without the arm cannons.

From all I've read, sounds like he got addicted to working out. While I don't know if he actually juiced, if he did get hooked on working out, it's possible he turned to them to just get more gains working out. I mean if he was really obsessed with the Navy SEALS thing, I can see him being obsessed with working out too.

Oh I'm almost totally convinced he juiced too. No way to prove it, but he fits the profile almost perfectly.

He got ripped (not McGwire/Sosa ripped, but ripped for a golfer) in a short period of time, his body broke down very quickly with a series of soft tissue injuries, and has ties to Galea.

Jack was a real golfer kind of fat I'm and bad clothes

Yeah & team guys aren't known for using roids or anything.

Don't the PGA guys undergo piss testing just like all other pro sports? Isn't that how DJ got caught for blow?
