Indiana would need to get blown out by A LOT and look like crap their final game and that still might not be enough.

Alabama - OU sucks but a night game in Norman is scary no matter how bad they are. Alabama has looked confused AF at times so always possible. They'll kill Auburn so hard.

Ole Miss in Gville and Note Dame either week is our best bet.

Everyone knew we had to beat Georgia. We were always gonna be the two loss team to toss. Absolute BS!!!

So is it absolutely meaningless if one of the at large teams in front of us gets absolutely embarrassed in a conference championship game?

The automatic qualifier for the conference game winner is very silly now that we are seeing it play out. BYU ranked 14 but in the playoff.
Exactly what I said they were trying to do when 12 was mentioned years ago.

Some terrible Big 12 or ACC team will sit there the bye week and then get blown out making a great football game to watch. 🤦‍♂️🙄

It says if we win out we have a greater than 80% chance of making it in. Wonder if they are banking on us getting in over Indiana or BYU even if they only have 1 loss?

Tennessee is 8-2 and finally allowed over 20 points for the first time all season to Georgia of all people. I don’t think the eye test is some negative for Tennessee as people think.
That's one aspect of it. Not scoring in the first half in numerous games and squeaking by mediocre teams is another aspect of it.

All we need is Notre Dame to lose to either USC or Army, Indiana to get smoked by Ohio State, Florida to upset Ole Miss, Auburn to upset Bama, or Minnesota to upset Penn St.

We have several scenarios. We also need to beat Vandy by a decent margin.

We are in the top 12-I thought coming into the season the top 12 teams will be bracketed. Apparently I was very wrong as we have a 12 and 14 ahead of us currently and are the first team out. I mean I get it, but what’s the point of even being ranked in the top 12

It’s based on any one of probably 10 things happening, from PennSt losing at Minny this week to USC beating ND to TxAM beating Texas (and committee ranking us above Tx), etc

Miami, BYU, Indiana, and maybe Notre Dame are going to look at possible losses. I think Tennessee is in a good spot right now to be the first team out depending on what happens the next 2 weekends.
Of course all that can change. They have to beat UTEP soundly (by 3 TDs or more) and have to whoop up on Vandy.
We have to beat Vandy, and they are not the pushover they used to be

But if A&m beats Texas, they way they are doing things they may pass us.
