The Walking Dead

There really was some truly weird and stupid sh*t in this season premiere. Old Rick walking around with a cane while Michonne and Carl look the same. Rick taking a Polaroid shot after they shot out the windows(a random nod to Negan's head bashing photos?). Where the hell were all the saviors and why was Rick's group shooting at an empty building? Were they just screwing with the audience when the guy fell off the tree perch and mysteriously landed on his back? Was that a nod at the terrible van flip scene?
I got around to watching it last night. I have no idea why they were shooting out windows. But the guy didn’t fall off the tree stand, he was sniped by Ricks team. It was one of the lookouts that they were taking out

I thought the same thing. In a world of scarcities, the last thing you need to do if you want a war with your enemy is waste ammo. It was breaking windows that they would have broken out on their own to shoot you.

Hahaha - more like a Twiggler!

I will watch 4 epsisodes, just like last season. The premier, mis season finale, the next one, the finale. The show is just not good enough to hold my interest weekly. I actually enjoy the fact they are getting closer to B rated show. Wish they would just go there full on

I thought it was ok. The best part was it didn't feel like the episode was dragging.

But the part where they wasted about 10,000 bullets was straight up dumb. And Rick is still incredibly incompetent.

They seem like they care about making scenes that they think "look cool" than making scenes that makes sense.

Yea, as valuable as bullets would be, I'd really like to know what the reasoning was for wasting thousands shooting at windows.

I think they spend too much time setting up symbolism shots like the repeat of the scene with Rick at the gas station in season one and Carol looking at the flower graffiti. Every once in a while it’s kinda cool to have those call backs but they try to squeeze them in so often they become unnecessary.

My wife truly doesn’t watch but noted that as she glanced at the crap I DVR. :)

Wouldn’t the Saviors be at a distinct disadvantage now that all their Little worker bee communities have cut off their supplies?

Because they did it in the comic; however in the comic they didn't just shoot at them forever, plus in the comic it showed that glass was raining down on the Saviors inside. I don't know if it was for time or what, but it would have been better if they had shown a shot of that happening.

So you guys remember Morales from season one when he and his family left the group before they headed to the CDC....rumors going around that he is now a savior and will pop up in one of the next few episodes.

Would be a nice twist.

I hope they don't give it away with the "Previously on The Walking Dead" segment, and show the scene from the first season when he tells the group they have to leave.

This episode started and ended with really strange close ups of grimacing faces.

Overall a decent episode. Nice to see the war continue in the second episode instead of slowing to halt like in seasons past. I did think the juxtaposition of Daryl’s findings vs Rick’s in the outpost. When Rick found the baby I was like “what now”.

But was does there always have to be a big puss on the team. Last year it was Morgan. Now it’s Jesus. What gives?

I thought it was decent but the writing is a mess. So much about it didn’t make much sense. Aaron’s man seemed to run over the other spot for the exact purpose of getting shot. Plus their plan was to kill Saviors and let them turn to kill more, but since people turning always varies, that seems like a very poor plan; but hey convienient walker turn timing.

I think that was only part of the plan. They were trying to draw them out. Seems like they were meant to be more of a distraction while a small team came in the back to “get the guns”.
