The Walking Dead

I think it's time for me to tap out on this show. I tried to make it to the end. Many of you whose opinions I respect are enjoying this season and I can't take it at all. I'm too poisoned to enjoy it even when it's good.

I haven't gotten to this point yet, but I admit I watch mostly out of habit more than I actually look forward to it. I haven't watched it live since the S7 premiere.

I still watch, but without much focus. Like turning on the Thursday night football game when my team isn't playing. It's on, I'm technically watching, but I'm also playing on my phone, cooking dinner, working, etc. I cannot bring myself to give it the same attention I used to. I don't think I've watched a live episode in multiple seasons.

Seeing that CGI tiger die was so emotional.

I thought they did it pretty well. I was bummed to see her go out by a bunch of walkers. It was sad.

Overall I thought it was a pretty good episode. Things had been going too smoothly for the good guys. They needed a little setback of some kind.

Last week they showed Rick’s group going through the dead and rounding up the weapons. I hope some one went back to do the same at that outpost.

Looks like next week we get an all Saviors episode.

I guess, I just always found the whole storyline about a guy having a pet tiger pretty silly. Even in the comic I thought it was too much. It was one of the things I was hoping they wouldn't try to put in the show. Plus I'm not buying the walkers would have been able to take her down so easily.

Fair enough. I don’t disagree. Ezekiel has been over the top as a whole IMO. Hopefully he drops the Shakespearian cadence now.

As for the walkers taking down a Tiger... I guess it would take a lot of them to hold her down kinda like the horse in the very first episode. So yeah... it would make more sense if she had been wounded already or gone out in a hail of bullets.

Either way... I thought it was an emotional scene. Maybe it’s just the sappy animal lover in me.

Yep. The rest of the show is so believable.

jesus ****ing christ, another one of "these" posts.

it continually blows my mind how people don't seem to realize that this universe is "supposed" to be somewhat grounded in reality outside the obvious zombie apocalypse.

a man somehow owning a ****ing tiger without any problem whatsoever is (while damn cool) pretty much jumping the shark.

Then the comic jumped the shark a few years before the show.

So I guess you'd be cool if Rick had the ability to fly next episode, Carol could turn invisible, and Daryl could regenerate like Wolverine?

I mean, if you're going to keep using that lame excuse to shut down any criticism, we might as well go all out.

And as I said, I already thought it was ridiculous in the comic.

But even in the comic, they treated it a bit better. They didn't really treat her like a dog and let her walk around all the time, and Ezekiel was the only one she was really tame with.

I wasn’t replying to you. I agreed with your prior assessment.

I just thought that a guy in the back of a truck , shooting a machine gun, could hit a Jeep right behind him, and the guy driving the truck would swerve into said Jeep and flip it, instead of letting Rick climb aboard. The tiger is as believable as that sequence.

The Artax scene in The Never Ending Story will be burned in my mind forever as a completely unpleasant movie scene and I watched that as a kid.

Geez... you had to pull that one back out of the depths of my mind. Unpleasant scene as a kid for sure.
