The Walking Dead

People do have pet big cats. This seems more plausible then all the constant head shots on zombies, followed by a massive firefight where nobody gets shot.

Good episode. So it answers the question that Gabriel was out of bullets in his rifle. Even though his handgun had some bullets I don’t think Gabriel is quick enough in a combat situation to draw and shoot that fast. Eventually G did take a shot. Overall I enjoyed their chat in the trailer.

The outpost leaders on the brink of disaster was solid interaction too.

Admittedly it’s come to wear I watch this show while working so my attention is divided. So I missed why the Jeep blew up while Rick and Daryl were fighting.

This guy and I are usually on the same page on reviews, and I agree with this one about last night:

That’s pretty harsh. I don’t get how the season has been an “unmitigated disaster” as he states in the first paragraph. Seems like it was written by someone who hates the show and is bitter he has been assigned to review it. At that point I just skimmed since it was clear it wasn’t really an objective view.

I will say the parts with Greggory seem pointless. His role was only to place Gabriel and Negan in that trailer. I kinda tuned that part out.

jesus ****ing christ, another one of "these" posts.

it continually blows my mind how people don't seem to realize that this universe is "supposed" to be somewhat grounded in reality outside the obvious zombie apocalypse.

a man somehow owning a ****ing tiger without any problem whatsoever is (while damn cool) pretty much jumping the shark.

This show jumped the shark a long time ago

I think the exact moment I lost any semblance of hope for this show was this past episode when Gabriel dramatically turns to the camera, looking like he's ****ting his pants but oddly satisfied about it, and belted out "I'm here to take your confession," end scene. Holy monkey balls on a **** stick. It was so awful I said what the **** out loud, no one else around me.

He had plenty of chances to kill Negan.

What exactly would you consider an "objective" view, and how would you even determine if it was or not? I mean I could easily play the same game and say you don't like the review because you liked the episode. And your accusation about him being bitter about having to review the show is completely baseless since he's covered the show from the beginning and used to love it (he even praised last week's episode).

Granted I haven’t read all of his reviews but when the first paragraph states the entire season to this point has been an “unmitigated disaster” then I just threw the rest out the window. This season is leaps and bounds better than the last. Particularly the first half of last season. Honestly I think for some people the show has reached a point of apathy. No matter what it does people roll their eyes and cry “lazy writing!!”

I realize the show isn’t living up to the expectations set in season 3 or 4 (I guess that was the high point for most?). I see flaws but honestly they’ve always been there. The dialog has never been great. The characters have always made dumb decisions. Circumstances have always blended to how the story necessitates. It’s always been there.

This was a pretty meh episode. Carl’s little subplot was worthless. There better be payoff to Rick approaching the scavengers because that was about as dumb as dumb gets. Nice to see Michonne and Rosita for the first time since season premiere but their reasoning for leaving Alexandria was pretty weak as well. Just an excuse to meet up with Daryl and stop him from doing something stupid.

I will probably watch the show until it ends but there are some things that drive me crazy,

Examples:
  • When one of the good guys has a gun on an unarmed bad guy, the bad guy almost always takes it away from them. They should just pull a gun on them and then immediately hand it over to save time.
  • If their gun is not taken away, they drop it like Rosita did last night.
  • If the walkers shuffle and drag their feet, why can they sneak up on people?
  • Why can they catch up to people that are running?

I have a ton more but will stop now:)

Episodes like this one are more proof that they don't need 16, because this one was pointless. The plot wasn't moved along at all.

Also, the inconsistency of the characters is mind-boggling. By now, every surviving person in this world should hardly be phased at all by a walker or even a few of them, and in seasons past in some scenarios they did make this seem like the case. But when they need a tense moment, suddenly "veteran" walker fighters get easily overwelmed by one walker and even somehow let one sneak up on them in wide open spaces. It makes absolutely no sense.

This whole Rick trying to get the trash people on his side is just stupid. Him just walking in there like he did was stupid. Those people don't deserve another chance at talking he should have gone in there blasting.

That was one of the dumbest things Rick has done, and that's saying a lot. The TV's version of Rick has made him look like a terrible leader.

I don't like the plot point, but since they are there... That group is the only thing that can really divide their attention from the Saviors. War on two fronts and such.

The Saviors, based on the on screen deaths would be decimated at this point. Even with the loss of the Kingdom, Negan would be in no shape to launch a counter attack. Yet, I have a feeling were going to see a strong group of Saviors do that very thing.

I did like the plot development with mullet man.

This was a much better episode. Eugene has turned into a piece of ****. He made that hero stand a couple seasons back and now is turning on everyone.

Still think Rick and the junk people was dumb though.

They better explain how all the snipers got taken out.

I can't give it anymore than an average; the storyline is just dragging.

I can't tell who's more annoying when on screen, Eugene or Negan.

Dwight is by far the best character on the show. I'm finally to the point where Darryl could die and I wouldn't mind. I really like Simon and wish they would use him more. They can kill off Morgan and Eugene any time now.

Ehh... I’ve been on board that show should only be 10-12 episode seasons but so far this season I’ve only felt like one episode was truly filler. Maybe two others could have been condensed into one. Otherwise I feel like the pace of the war has been pretty good. It’s just been like 2 days? The mid season finale this week should be a good turning point for the season.

I'm wondering if we'll actually see what Eugene's plan was for getting them out.

Or was it really just shoot the walkers?

I want to know if the helicopter was real or Rick hallucinating. Was it just one of there artsy call backs?
