The Walking Dead

As we come up on the mid season premiere what major character do you think will be killed off before the end of this season?....besides Carl obviously. I think Maggie will be killed off.

Might be a good bet. Lauren Cohan's contract is up, she has not signed a new one, and even has signed up to star in a new pilot for ABC.

Dang... they gonna kill a pregnant woman?

Sounds like she is gone.

Maybe, also could be a ploy to get more money. Also, it's not likely but possible she could do both depending on shooting schedules.

I'll be shocked if she's gone but I woudln't have thought Carl would be offed so at this point anything can happen.

I also think ultimately keeping all the actors happy might be the thing thing that kills the show. Andrew Lincoln has been saying for a while he wants to do other things and his commitment to the show makes that not possible. Danai Gurira did Black Panther and will be in the new Avengers so I would say her stock is rising and likely will be getting more and more offers. I mean they can keep offering more money but if ratings keep dropping and AMC keeps cutting the budget, I'm not sure how they can keep them happy. Some of the cast likely are fine with staying as long as possible because this will likely be the biggest thing they ever do, but I would guess the bigger names it's not enough.

I wouldn't bet my current job on a pilot for any of the big 3 networks. They're too quick to cancel new shows.

On a side note, I’m not digging Daryl’s character this season.

Sure, you can blame it on bad writing but his character really has no meaning to the actual storyline. Not to mention his constant dumb decisions that puts the group in danger.

He takes up wayyy too much screen time from other characters that are more important.

Should have ended his character during the Negan Lineup in the Season 7 Premiere.

True they’ve not done much with him, but they’ve done much at all. This season has been super slow. Even by their standards. Just constantly retelling the same story from different angles to slow the plot.

I give them props for actually killing Carl.

But holy crap did that end up being anti climatic. Drag it out all episode to have it "end" like that. Lame.

Not the best episode but it was good enough.

Carl’s death was dragged out wayyy too long and kind of got annoying after a while.

Gavin’s death was shocking. I felt like he could have changed and joined Rick’s group.

Story wise, it still makes zero sense.

I got to the point where I skipped through the Carl scenes. It dragged on ridiculously long. I just wanted to see that savior guy get skewered.

Honestly, I just didn’t care. The episode was supposed to be emotional and dramatic but parts came across as kinda hokey and overracted. As with most extended WD episodes, it didn’t need to be.

But at least no lame fakeout and they explained the flashforward.

Also, did anyone else think it was weird that other than Rick and Michonne, everyone acted kind of indifferent to Carl dying? I get it was in a tense situation but they seemed a bit too non-affected by it. Especially Daryl, who has known Carl for a long time now. I can buy it fits with his character to try and seem tough during stuff like that but he's cried and shown emotion to other deaths (especially Beth's).
