The Walking Dead

been with this show from the beginning, and one of my all time favorites, but these last two seasons have really started to piss me off. there was a point where one of the great things about the show was the development of characters and all the interaction....

now it just feels like filler. and i like Rick less and less, not because he's bad or anything, but really, what else is there for him to be on this show at this point? Darryl has a few grunts.....Carol has all but been a non participant.

anyway, i'm in it and have been, so i'm sticking with it. but at this point, this story is just being dragged on and on. it's been 3 weeks since we last saw King E....any chance we can get an update on what happened to him??? Jesus? Aaron?

point being, they could condense a lot of the stories down, not every episode needs to be an hour on a single plot line...that goes no where.

I've said for a while now they don't need 16 episodes. All it did when it expanded was give them an excuse to drag things out. Cut it to 10 and get to the freakin' point, and leave us wanting more.

The Negan storyline is being dragged out way too long.

Not to mention how unrealistic it is for Rick to be ridiculously stupid by missing easy opportunities to kill Negan.

I mean wasting bullets on an unarmed man and not even tempting to kill him while he’s laying on the floor underneath you!

They do need fresh material.

I got to the end of Negan in the comics and quit there. As for the show, I watch the season premiere and finale and that’s about it. I read about it on Forbes but just can’t sit through it anymore. My favorite season for the show was 3-4. After that, downward spiral. They just need to end it at this point.

From the comments here, it would seem that the show itself has taken on the characteristic of it's title.

I'm glad I haven't wasted any time watching it since the episode where Glenn didn't die beside a dumpster.

Pretty much where I quit watching

I finally watched the first two since the mid season. They were OK. Most of the Carl episode was pretty good but when it got to the last 15min or so and kept cutting back and forth it was definitely dragging on too long. Carl deserved a good sI liked his acceptance montage at the start. I like that it called back to when he shot that kid at the prison and how it’s haunted him ever since.

The Carol and Morgan parts were the most interesting parts of the episode. It was good to see them back in full ass kicking mode again. At the same time it pisses me off they wasted 2 seasons of Morgan being a pacifist and Carol attempting to be a hermit.

One thing that bugs me about Morgan’s staff is how easily he stabs people in the head. Decaying zombies are one thing but it would take a lot of force to jam it through a human skull. Then the kid stabbing through what’s his name just took me out of the moment.

Second episode was meh... glad the junk people got what they deserved, thought the grinder scene was pretty good, forgot Enid and Aaron were even at the Amazon place and the whole scene seemed pointless, the Negan and Rick conversation was meh. The scene breaks with their names was strange. They never done that before and the outline of the episode wasn’t particularly different than anything else they’ve done.

Anyway, gonna try to get completely caught up this weekend.

I got out after season 3...sounds like that was a good move every post on here is complaining lol.

well, i'll be honest, i thought a lot of season 5 and 6 were really good. but when they left Atlanta and got to Alexandria, it just feels like everything is forced. and these last two seasons, with the saviors and Negan...

good grief. they've really bled this turnip dry. and l love the neegan character, but they have not done a thing to give you any real back story on Negan which is weird, since they've, in the past, allowed some back story to develop. you got back story on the governor, Mischone, the folks at Terminus, and hell, even dwight got a backstory episode. you got history on the folks at alexandria...

anyway. i've loved the show. but these last two seasons have pretty much been a slow burn, and i'm not sure the juice will be worth the squeeze in the end.

for all intents and purposes, this "war" has been going on for nearly 3 seasons.

Rick hit Negan with a flaming baseball bat and Negan fell and got back up.
Rick hits walkers with the same bat and they immediately burst into flames. :banghead2:

I don't mind suspending reality because it is a TV show but at least make it plausible.

Negan also fell at least 2 stories and was completely fine.

The walkers were doused in lighter fluid... duh.

The only plausible reason I can offer is Negan was wearing a leather coat which isn’t as combustible as a flannel shirt.

But over all, your point is valid.

Yeah, I didn't put too much emphasis on the fire aspect. Cotton is definitely more flammable than leather and given the dust in the building, that cotton had been drying for a long time haha.

Indestructible Negan was more of an issue for me. A full blown car wreck followed by a 2 story drop and zero physical consequences.
Unless them showing Rick jump through the hole and land on a mattress(?) was implying Negan also landed there?

Both Morgan and the kid stuck the pointed sticks through the neck/throats of their live targets...
Head shots only into Walkers.

Realistically, the Saviors should have all been slaughtered when they opened fire from the windows.

You're right. A few episodes ago, the Hilltop group was decimated by Saviors shooting from warehouse windows.
Simon and his group foolishly approach the Hilltop in a tight group. Maggie's group open fire and do very little damage.
Why no sentries posted at every point after such a fierce battle? Why have they not learned that the wounded could die and turn? Did the entire group take a dozen Sominex as not one single person heard walkers shuffling or falling?

I often wonder what the writers are thinking when they write these story lines.
