Lol, what a terrible episode.
One, ok we kill a bunch of extras that we're supposed to care about. Tobin I guess it supposed to be emotional but dude has hardly been used in forever.
Two, that kid is one of the dumbest kids in TV history. You have a freakin gun and they are in a fence that you can easily shoot through. There was no reason to open it other than...plot convenience. Also I thought Morgan told him which one killed his brother in a previous episode.
Three, so now just like that Tara and Daryl...switch their views on Dwight?
Four, Morgan. They have so ruined this character; enough of his mental anguish that's been drug out for about 3 seasons now.
And finally, apparently the writers can only write either shootouts or long, trying-way-too-hard dramatic emotional exhanges rife with supposedly inspirational monologues. I still say these writers don't seem to understand how people talk in real life.
You're right. A few episodes ago, the Hilltop group was decimated by Saviors shooting from warehouse windows.
Simon and his group foolishly approach the Hilltop in a tight group. Maggie's group open fire and do very little damage.
Why no sentries posted at every point after such a fierce battle? Why have they not learned that the wounded could die and turn? Did the entire group take a dozen Sominex as not one single person heard walkers shuffling or falling?
I often wonder what the writers are thinking when they write these story lines.

Morgan told him the guy he killed (the outpost leader whose name I can never remember) did it but apparently the kid didnt believe him. It was really the long haired dude still in the pin.
It was definitely plot convenince to have him go in but at the same time he is a kid and stupid so not completely out of the realm of believability. Not to mention that kid wouldnt have gotten more than a round or two off with that gun before it knocked him to the ground. Any of the adults who have fired one should have realized that.
You are thinking of the Kingdom group that got taken out by the Gatlin guns. I see your point but they killed quite a few saviors. Im wondering how they have more than a handful left at this point.
I do think this infected weapon plot was dumb. Maybe would have been a good plot in an earlier season but they have defied this logic by covering themselves in guts too many times. As recently as this season in fact when Gabriel and Negan did it.
Im pretty much over trying to apply logic to what the characters are thinking though. I just roll with it and hope to be entertained.
In that sense the action was decent this episode. But the infection part was dumb. People laying around with fevers and you dont think maybe they might die overnight?
The season on the farm was kinda dull but it still had compelling characters.
I agree. Maggie came from the farm group.
Hershel was a good character and the plots were much more interesting.

Shane was the best character on the show, imo, so when he went, I wasn't far behind.
He just magically got out of the ropes and grabs a gun and flare.
Horrible. They actually had one of the best plot twists and it ended with a dud.My lord...the writing, or this episode maybe the editing. Junkyard lady goes through all that....for nothing. This is why 16 episodes is too much for this show, you end up with more ridiculous scenarios where Negan should be dead and he gets out. And this time he's tied up and then suddenly has a gun and flare? Huh?
Rick is worse than Negan at this point.
The show is a chore at this point. Just want to see it though.
yeah, overall i liked last night's episode. maybe one of the better ones of the season. but i'm with ya...i was like, so he's got two free hands, and decides to load a pistol and light a flare, vs. untying himslef and just shooting janus?
ok.
