The Weightlifters Thread

when I first started counting calories, I was getting probably ~1500 per day. I had no idea it was that low

I threw in more snacks into my diet...

added oatmeat in the mornings. and almonds/dried cranberries/nuts to munch on in the afternoon.

also added more servings of meat to my dinners.

Yeah....

I was pretty clueless at the time regarding weightlifting. I gained some weight after getting a desk job. So I started watching what I ate and working out more. I slimmed down and added definition, but I wasn't getting any bigger/stronger. I wondered why. So I started courting calories and figured it out pretty quick.

Switched up the arms workout. Skullcrushers, dips and 21 gun salute to mix it up. My arms will actually be sore tomorrow, for once. Can't reach my neck to scratch it. Grrrr feel like the hulk.

Oh yeah, also did deadlifts, because I wasn't feeling up to it on back day. My arms workout always ends up being a hodge-podge of lifts that I didn't get to throughout the week. I'm super sore all over. Also, I need to buy a lifetime supply of jack3d before it's unavailable anywhere. The stuff is for real, although I'm sure it's 75% the caffeine that I feel, but still it seems to be better than any other energy supplement I've tried.

It's official as of this morning, I've cut off 20 pounds. I'm starting to return to form. I let myself go when I bought my house. No more lazy bummin'. I have seen a few updates here and there but how's everyone doing on their Summer cuts?

Lost 4 pounds, but gained a lot of strength, so I feel like I've lost considerable body fat. Unfortunately, the crappy caliper I bought at GNC is all over the place, so it's hard to track it down to the percent.

I'm very happy with my beach body, any additional mass, or lost belly fat by June is just a bonus, at this point.

Great job! I have been slow dieting for 18 weeks, lost 34 lbs. Started at 218, now at 184. Body fat is 6.7% with calipers. Have not lost strength but have eaten like **** the past 2 days, have to get back on track. Only a few more weeks of dieting left for me.

It's not the caffeine. Jack3d has a little less than most other preworkouts. It's the 1,3 dimeth. USP Labs has a lockdown on extracting the ingredient from geranium that no one else has.

If it is, in fact, extracted, and not synthesized :wink2:

But I've been on OEP, and it is not on the same level as jack3d. Or, it could be that 2 scoops of jack3d is simply a much bigger dose than 1 capsule of OEP.

The creatine might have something to do with it, too.

That's sick man. Great job. I still have a long way to go. I'm doing this really slow. My goal was to be ripped by my 30th birthday but I tore my meniscus at that time and that dream died. I really have no plans of stopping now until I get the results I want. I'm 33 and I plan on getting there now.

Down to 194 lbs myself. Ideal is 185 lbs, but it requires a lot of discipline. Haven't been 194 lbs since last September.

Apreciate it! Sorry about that injury. You can do it, it sucks but once you reach that goal it will be worth it.

200-202 right now. Started at 222 and goal is ~190. Drank a bit more than I should have the past week, but it's the first time since st. Patty's day so I guess I earned it. Time to get back on track now tho.

:jawdrop:

Congrats.

What kind of calipers do you use, and how would you rate their accuracy?

They are just standard calipers, measured 7 spots on my body. Fiancee took the measurements, told her to grab excess if she has too. Then I found a site online where I could put the measurements in. The best part about being shredded is having veins pop out everywhere.

Guys, I need advice on how to gain strength, and bulk up and add weight. Give me example of sets and reps for bulking up and adding strength. I can do whatever now since I got a membership at Gold's.
