The Weightlifters Thread

I can't believe how long this shoulder issue is taking to resolve itself! Dangit!!! I am losing so my ground.

What is the rotator cuff work you do. Also, what is pulsing?

I don't do a lot of rotator cuff stuff that I'm aware of. I know one video specifically mentions it, and you lie on your side with your elbow at 90º with a 5lb weight and lift up and down.

Pulsing is just doing a very small movement either at the upper end or lower end of the movement. For lunges, you pulse before you ever come completely up out of the movement. That make sense?

If you're having shoulder problems it could be from an imbalance of movements.

Pulsing sounds like partial reps, gotcha.

Thanks Milo.

My dad has had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders. Definitely something I never wanna go through. lol (The PT was worse than the surgery of course.)

Couple of observations this morning.

Skull crushers don't bother my shoulder at all. AT ALL!! Whoop whoop!! The tricep press however, didn't feel good. I didn't do the whole movement. Tricep dips were completely out of the question. I didn't even get in position for those (and it's one of my favorite tracts!)

Chest press wasn't gonna happen. I could half ass it going really slow but that seemed pointless. So I modified it to a chest fly, and that didn't bother the shoulder. I didn't attempt the push-ups since that's what jacked my shoulder up to begin with.

Deadlifts and rows were awesome. No issues what so ever. All other tracts (squats, lunges, bicep tract, etc) were good.

I really wish there was a magic fix. I miss it.

Start doing dumbbell bench press, you may be able to find a grip that doesn't aggravate your shoulders, and it's among the most effective pec lifts out there
