The Weightlifters Thread

Now that I try picturing that smiley as a man, it looks like Gene Simmons.

I'm thinking about hanging my old hangboard from my climbing days up in my garage tonight to use as a supplement to back day. Gets your forearms gooood.

Does it irritate y'all as badly as it does me when someone asks you that? It drives me crazy.

There was some roid head at the gym I am going to now. He asked me to spot him. He started rambling on about how he is particular in who spots him. He thanked me for the help. He then went on a 5 min spill of what all he was on. He then had the balls to ask me what I was taking. I said "nothing". He then asked how old I was. I told him 29. He then asked me why I didn't take anything. I then told him about my one of my friends that takes roids, and how he had to have emergency heart surgery last week. Also about how most of the people I know that take roids have had joint issues, along with shoulder surgery, ect. He humbly walked away.

I think I would take it as a compliment if somebody asked me if I juiced. One person actually did, but that person was too clueless to take it seriously.

It's more of the fact that I feel like they are cheating me out of all of the hard work I've put in and them assuming I took the "easy way" to get there. I'm by no means very big, but I busted my ass to get to where I'm at and I want credit for that haha.

Does that make sense? Or did I just post a rambling wall of text haha

I agree. I have had someone ask me, and yes it is a compliment but like you said, busting your ass is how you got there. I have been at it for 2 & 1/2 years, most people just want it in a few weeks.

So you don't have to bust your ass to get results with juice? The term juice is pretty broad as there are ton of different steroids that have their own specific properties to get desired results. There are some people that actually know what they're doing when they take steroids. Then there are the guys that have no clue & just take anything. Like the guy tha pops 50mg of just Dbol a day because he's scared of needles. Not only will he lose anything he's gained almost immediately after he stops but he's killing his liver if he takes it for a long period of time.

You took what I said the wrong way. Yes, people that are dedicated enough to hop on a bike are dedicated enough to put in hard work in the gym. But the person who isn't on it will have to put in that much more work to get to the same level.

I'm not sure of you're age & don't really wanna know but as you get older it only gets harder. Those 60 year old dudes on tv that are ripped aren't that way by taking over the counter supplements or a test booster. It's not about looking at somebody & saying they cheated to get that way & you got yours by simple hard work. It's what you chose to do & that other person worked just as hard if not harder. I'm not condoning steroids but there are responsible ways to do them & at a certain age it only increases quality of a mans life. If it weren't the case there wouldn't be TRT clinics or androgel etc.
