The Weightlifters Thread

Wish I could deload every week! I'm not even advanced enough to worry about that. I just take an off week every 10-12 weeks as it fits into my schedule.

Just move your days around. Doing back and legs after each other don't mix imo.

 But that would mean not doing chest on Mondays!

For a while, I pushed chest to Tuesday just so I could get a damn bench. Also, to separate squats and deadlifts.

My vanity likes to do chest Monday, in case I have to go out of town spontaneously or something and miss the rest of the week :)

Got a high carb, high protein meal cooked up for my pre-workout meal the next two days. Dunno how healthy chicken and pasta is, but it's got spinach in it, so I'm thinkin' I'm gonna rage out in the gym Popeye style.

Chicken and pasta is healthy, just depends on what else you have in it (sauces, etc.). Whole wheat pasta?

Marinara, chicken stock and spinach w/ some spices.

It is definitely not whole wheat pasta. That **** is gross. It is multi grain, though. I think. It's one level of healthy, but it's not the full blown nasty stuff. I think the gross stuff was whole wheat.

Through a healthier diet, and more focus on ab exercises every other workout, I can actually see a 6 pack coming through! I've lost 15 lbs, while maintaining strength across the board.

Chest and shoulders are great, but they look so much better with a nice 6 pack holding them up.

Dude's got a badass tan

Anybody know about the weight loss benefits of ice baths? Read some stuff that shows you burn 4000 more calories swimming for 4 hours than you would running a marathon. The difference being the cold water. Apparently 20 lbs of ice in the tub for 20 minutes 3 times a week will help a ton with weight loss. Gonna put it to the test. I have about 25 lbs I could lose, and I want to get rid of 15-20 of it. I'm going to put it to the test. No special diet...just gym and ice.

Revisiting this. I haven't taken an ice bath since the first one. I got a cold the day after (coincidence?) my first one. Since then I have on 2 occasions swam in a very cold pool for about 20-30 minutes.

It must really burn a crapload of calories because I ate uncontrollably Saturday and Sunday. I think I need to do it in the morning before I go to work. That way I don't have access to a ton of food.
