I don't care what side of the political spectrum they fall on, I'd prefer they left their politics out of the sport. It's so strange. And then to think it's bc it happens bc of their political beliefs. Are they incapable of having beliefs and doing their job? Idiots.
Keyshawn Davis takes silver in the Men's Light division. Personally, I thought he won, but judges gave it to the Cuban.
The US style is considered too flashy by international judges. But in international competition outside of Olympic competition north and central American technique and competition is vastly superior. It's been a long time since we have dominated boxing. There has always been questionable scoring. If I recall Roy Jones Jr didn't win gold in controversy. Perhaps Mayweather didn't either.

There's truth to this but it goes deeper, there's a disdain for north and central American technique...... Which is odd because it had been proven superior time and again.Olympic boxing is rigged. It’s been rigged for years.
Plus it’s 3 rounds.
The best boxers in the world normally use the first two rounds to just get a feel for their opponents closing speed and head movement. It is in the middle rounds and on that they begin to dominate once they establish their jab distance.
Almost any basic fighter in the world can go 3 rounds and will not get winded until the end of the second. It is in the later stages that the legs get heavy and the body shots begin to cause the arms to drop.
It needs to be 9 rounds in the gold medal match.

What's sad is this will be taken out on those considered underperformers and their families. At least in America the worst you have to deal with is sharp, if not irrational criticism.Chinese are done at the Olympics. Finish with 38 gold. We're at 39. Our last event is coming up as Super Heavyweight Richard Torrez Jr. takes on a badass from Uzbekistan.
I heard Chinese Twitter is awful. Read an article about how athletes who didn't win gold took abuse, as well as opponents who beat Chinese athletes. What's sad is this will be taken out on those considered underperformers and their families.
