The Worst Firing In Sports History Was

Hard to see anyone stick up for Fulmer, at the end, it was horrible. A real nightmare. Could'nt even hike the fricken ball. Recruiting had went to s..., Totally incompetant offense resulting in Sanders quitting - and by the way I didn't blame Sanders because Fulmer blew it. Discipline was crap, directly on Fulmer. We were a total loser of a football team. To me it has all been worth it just to get that fat piece of lard away from our program. And I don't like his wife either. I despise Fulmer and always will.

Worst firings of all big time sports was Billy Martin - hands down. He did not deserve it. He was one of the all time great managers in baseball history. A total winner. He did have a problem hanging out at bars and punching people tho.

Randy sanders was forced to resign because he flat out sucked....he never quit on his own choosing because he's just not a good coach...he was one of the biggest downfalls of Fulmers carreer

Fine, Bama didn't fire Curry, they ran him off, illustrating my point that they were too stupid to realize what they had ...

"Curry's three-year record of 26–10 gave him the highest winning percentage among Alabama coaches since Bear Bryant (at the time). [3] However, Curry had an 0–3 record against Alabama's arch-rival Auburn, and never once beat the Tigers in the twelve games he coached against them over his career. In early 1990, Curry received a contract which contained provisions he disliked, including no raise and removal of his power to hire and fire assistants, .[4] Curry was particularly upset by this since he'd led the Tide to its first SEC title since the Bryant era. He responded by accepting a job offer to become the head coach at the University of Kentucky."

I expect Saban will also probably leave Bama and move on to bigger things at Kentucky.

That was pretty brutal.

And what did we have? What exactly did Curry do at any of his stops that suggested he was anything more than a pretty good coach?

The guy that replaced him won a national championship, so it's hard to argue that Bama didn't upgrade.

we may never have another coach in my lifetime to do that, it will the best of times for me, do not care what others think.

Great post. Along with many other things, the younger generation should learn about appreciation.
