The you don't want to get involved in this discussion thread (split)

the persecuted Christian is one of the weakest arguments being peddled today. Only second behind the poor, persecuted white male

that's great but morals can be separate from religion. You attempt to tie the 2 together which is ridiculous

Your attempt to tie moral decline with educational decline is what's ridiculous.

And the persecuted Christian is a reality that you need to wake up to. Ask any valedictorian at a lot of public high schools if they are allowed to pray from the podium at their school's graduation ceremony. Or the attempt to rid Christmas from public life and call it winter holiday, etc. There are numerous examples.

this story is going to get old fast and they the media, will hold onto this one for years to come. I mean picture the tiger woods scandle x 10. its totally ridiculous. Cant wait to start having every sports radio show talking about this over and over.....

I am in the strong belief that you are not born gay but become gay based on condtions surrounding you growing up. I do not believe for one second that god puts us here on earth already gay.

And what if the valedictorian was muslim? Would you be okay with them praying to allah at the podium? I know a lot of people here would not.

This is very sad if true:ermm:

Is that eye opening to you? There's a whole world out there that couldn't care less about what the bible says about anything. They have their own religion that explains things for them, and that they vehemently believe to be true. Crazy, isn't it? They think you are as equally wrong as you do about them. Perspective.

It will. The more mainstream homosexuality gets the more I get repulsed by it. Seems like they define who they are by what they like sexually. Really sad.

Edit: I should note I am repulsed by the fact that people define themself with their sexuality. Wgaf?

Sorry I'm getting to this kind of late, but if it repulses you the way people define themselves with their sexuality, why did you start this thread off with the statement, "I'm Straight."?

If you don't care about the sexuality of others, why should we care about yours?

I don't necessarily believe that. I think organized religion has been perverted by some to completely oppress their believers. Others wish to shape the world based on their beliefs. If they would simply stick to their main charge and keep their hands out of the personal lives of others (including via politics) there wouldn't be that much of an issue

frankly I have enough to worry about with myself and my boys to even care enough to jump into the personal lives of others
. Just let everyone do their own thing as long as it does not infringe on the rights of another

Yet you feel compelled to attack anything Christian on a message board?

Many countries in Europe are largely irreligious but that doesn't stop them from maintaining a higher standard of living with less social issues.

yep - found some pretty interesting graphs that show this - interesting that the US is significantly higher than other developed countries on homicide rate and significantly higher than other developed countries on importance of religion

Importance of religion by country - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He has that right. Just as others have the right to walk out or boo if they wish to. Free society.

Yes, I would be fine with it. I support the freedom of all religions, not just my own. I'm confident enough in my own beliefs to not be intimidated by those different than mine.

your ability to worship has not been infringed one bit. Not allowing it at a state function has nothing to do with that. You're arguing the wrong thing

I have worded by responses carefully in an attempt to not attack anything. Simply asking questions and believing differently is not always an attack

Dogs, cats, monkeys, cows, etc are not gay. It's not natural. It's human flaw. Although dogs hump anything male or female or object for that matter.

I'm sure there is another place that this thread can be put....ahem....MODS...get this crap out of our recruiting forum please.

This will stop being "news" when we stop having LGBT youth killing themselves because of a portion of society that makes them think they're sinners, wrong, disgusting ect.

This man serves as a role model to those youth and makes them think, "Hey, I may be able to do all the things I want to do just like him."

You may not agree with it, but with the LGBT youth suicide rate so high, it's pretty petty to knock this man down.

Sure seems like more of an attack than question asking to me, but wording isn't really my question. I think everyone is clear on what is compelling the Christians on here. I'm curious as to the compelling force behind the agnostics. Someone makes a statement or starts a thread that homosexuality is not in keeping with the quran and I don't feel the need to address it and I don't see many agnostics or atheists getting up in arms about it either. I guess the question is...why does Christianity rustle your jimmies so?
