This one is on Barnes

Amazing then since the SEC apparently has had a "participation trophy mindset" for like 50 years then because it's been the official position of the conference that split champions are a thing. The SEC Tournament winner isn't the "real conference winner", they're the TOURNAMENT Champions.

Sorry if that gets your panties in a wad but as I heard a famous jackass say "Facts don't care about your feelings".

Enjoy claiming your shared title with a team we lost the head to head with. I’m sure claiming the “conference title*” really helps your everyone have fun more than winning mentality. Booze and Barnes really has y’all emotional on the internet. Wild

No, but in pressure situations, you need to be explicit, especially for a younger player.

Oh come the eff on dude.....he's a 5 STAR PLAYER.

For crying out loud go back and watch, Phillips hesitates because he chickened out. Learning moment but you're taking the hand holding to a ridiculous level here.

This isn't little league. If you are Phillips amd you don't understand that the coach is drawing up a play to get you a free run at the basket, then you need your head examined. Just put the blame where it belongs. There's nothing wrong with saying Phillips screwed up. In retrospect, he'd probably tell you the same thing.

Some say it is on a player, but why was Tennessee anywhere close to the commode doors regarding score?

Why is the supposedly number 6 team in the country playing close games with teams with which it should not be anywhere near playing close games?

Some will say it happens, but does it happen so consistently with very good to great teams?

Why is it always the players when one did not perform at the end and the coach evidently pointed out to him and thus, the rest of the world? Where was the coaching many times this season when 3 pointers would not go down?

If it is lack of inside players, why can the right inside players not be brought in? This is a great staff correct?

Maybe it is just a good way to make money until retirement and hey, it's better than any other coach we had except one, but we're not North Carolina so I guess we should just suck it up.

Well he’s obviously not a 5 star then. In which case, why run the play through him?

I’m not hand holding. I just think Barnes sucks eggs on the offense and around anyone who doesn’t have Kevin Durant talent.

My beef with Barnes is that he recruits defense and then tries to teach offense which produces inconsistent scoring. Been his forte since he's been here. I've been blasted my share for doggin him so don't homer me.

It’s sarcasm. Lighten up Frances.

You are handholding since you've still not said Phillips **** the bed and let down his team.

You're also talking about our highest paid NIL athlete on the basketball side who is not paid to dribble the basketball, if Phillips is one and done, it simply means Tennessee couldn't match the NIL money Alabama or Auburn will throw at him.

I don't know, why did Oklahoma kick Alabama's ass a week and a half ago? You obviously are a gigantic college basketball fan who has watched thousands of hours of games, surely you can answer all those generic questions you just posted.

And yes....that was sarcasm.

He let his team down. Barnes lets his team down again tonight. But with you guys it’s ok for Barnes because we’ll get into the NCAA. My question is why do you guys keep holding Barnes’ hand when this happens so often?

Oh we're at the moving the goalposts portion of the discussion. Cool.

Barnes had the team in position to win. What more do you want? If Phillips actually does what he was supposed to, we're not having this discussion.

Then say that and not the utter stupidity of trying to act like it was Barnes' fault a 5 STAR PLAYER didn't dunk it when the play was drawn up to send him to the basket.

What exactly might he more explicit about. “Put the round object through the circle?” It’s a pretty simple scenario. Phillips either just froze, or genuinely didn’t expect to be open. It’s one play. He choked. Some of our best players played worse than Phillips tonight. He actually found some scoring space inside and at the elbow. Awaka had a nice game too. Key shot well. Vandy played the game of the season. They shot well, defended pretty well, and made a play at the end. We didn’t. While Phillips could’ve put it away, we didn’t really deserve to win tonight. Team loss. Get over it. More big games coming up.

Fair enough. I’m mad at Phillips but he’s a kid. I’m madder at Barnes not for that play but for lousy coaching in general tonight.
