Tidbits on The Coaching Search and Pearl Leaving

they should have run a contest to allow a random fan to dog cuss both of them during that meeting

They could have made enough to afford a new coach if they would have made it pay per view

Tennessee contacted Chris Mack this week via Parker Executive Search and told the Xavier coach the school was prepared to offer an eight-year contract worth nearly $2 million a year to replace Bruce Pearl, a source close to the SEC program told CBSSports.com on Friday.

If you were GT would you offer your job to Gregory right before trying to jump UT for Marshall? I value your opinion.

I wouldn't and neither would Tech, apparently. They thought so highly of the report you were so excited about that they took the extraordinary step of issuing a press release saying it was bullshat. Great find on your part. Awesome work.

Read my post. I said he's not reliable.

4.) Bruce Pearl engaged in a cussing match with Tennessee brass because he felt he deserved double the buyout that Tennessee offered, which was nearly $1 million.

:yikes: unbelievable... since you're being a jerk about this, you can just mail me that $1 million

Donnie jones. Just think he is a good coach. Not saying I want him, but I like him

I don't know much about him, but the .500 record in CUSA (including an absolute tailspin in the second half of this season) doesn't give me warm fuzzy feelings. I guess if we want the Derek Dooley of basketball. . . heh

That was his first year there and they were considerably improved. C-USA wasn't great, but it was balanced. I didn't see anything this year that changed my opinion of Jones as a future BCS league head coach.

I did see that they picked up a win over Florida, which is quite nice. I should probably defer to you and emain, who at least paid attention to him at Marshall. But he's one of the only candidates on your list that doesn't generate excitement simply by perusing the Wikipedia page.

Next he'll be telling me that I wasn't bringing up Lawrence Frank at the beginning of the season or that my Richmond/Chris Mooney thing hasn't tracked back two years.

FTR, Mooney is nowhere near the top of my list, but we could do worse

What is your list, out of interest? I like hearing the thoughts of people who follow NCAA hoops more broadly than I do.
