TikTok is too influential

I’m very anti-TikTok. It just makes me think of something out of 1984 or Fahrenheit 451.

I just imagine some weird dystopian movie scene with society collapsing around them while they sit on their couch shoveling chips into their mouth and watching people make fart jokes on TikTok

TikTok added 25% to the number of posts in “The Girls of” threads

The only “conspiracy theory” (if you can call it that,) I fully believe is that China is 100% collecting data from millions of users and using the app to dumb down populations of other counties. I can’t imagine having something like that when I was in high school, and that was only 10 - 15 years ago. The toxic environment it has created in our society is beyond repair.

ever wonder how these things get millions of views in a couple days ? I think they cook those numbers - there cant possibly that many mindless cretins watching that for hours every day

Each video is 7-12 sec, so people can watch a bunch in 20 min.so that's how so people get many likes.

i read a study that shows how **** like tiktok screws with your dopamine like crazy. i got no use for it

Watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. I deleted all my social media after that except for a fake FB account for a bourbon group and VolNation since I live in Kentucky

Oh there are. There are probably a lot more older people on there than you would think.

It’s amazing. One of my FIL’s good buddy’s is as down home and blue collar as it gets and he’s all over TikTok. Yesterday me and my wife went out for a drink and the table next to us was 4 adults all watching TikTok and barely conversing.

Yeah. People thinks it cringe when kids do some of these things. It's far worse when you see the 50 somethings trying out a fad.

I’m glad I stopped at Facebook and rarely get on any more. Complete waste of time, mostly. Snap Chat, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter…I don’t get it, never will and an even bigger waste of time. But VolNation….well, you had me at “hello”!

Social media is by far the worst thing introduced to the human race. You’ll never be able to convince me the benefits outweigh the negatives.

The "news" Windows has down in the taskbar is 80% clickbait articles concerning TikTok videos. They are usually about a fast food place and a Karen. I have seen nothing of value come from that app.

I would pay $10 large to see someone punch that arrogant POS in the face and make him cry like a little girl.

Why do people put up with him?

Because he's an actor, a lot of its staged and he really knows what he's doing?

All his yelling and cursing is a stunt, I don’t even know if they run those type of shows anymore. He’s put out some really good documentaries and MasterChef is more level headed.

The absolute best was Kitchen Nightmares.

Amy's Baking Company specifically lol

I hate the service. I feel like my IQ drops when someone mentions a new trend.

And thanks to just how many people have been suckered in, my kids lost a day of learning. Most middle and high schools in my county had 50%+ absent because of a viral TikTok threat. Hearing similar from friends in various parts of the country.

Threats of possible school shootings, bombings circulate on TikTok, prompting LAUSD and FBI response
I despise TikTok and avoid it like the plague, but it is all over Instagram. Sometimes I think we all need to burn everything and say **** it.
