Time to upgrade

I guess some people are too stupid to realize we are still a couple of scholarships down and don’t have the recruiting visits other schools have.It has been that way since Heupel has been here. This game showed the talent difference across the board.
My problem isn’t with the talent discrepancy, it’s that we didn’t have a game plan or multiple schemes in place to address that discrepancy and make the game competitive. We didn’t stand a chance.

It’s posts like this that make us the laughing stock of CFB at times. The dude has us at 9 or 10 wins every year and a playoff contender in just 4 years, and all that while still dealing with the Pruitt fallout, which many one here tend to forget. This program is fine. Get some help for Nico and relieve a few coaches, and we’re good!

Look, I’m not disrespecting heupel at all for the job he’s done in the position we were in. But we are too prestigious a program to not be looking to improve when we can. We are in a position now where we can convince a proven head coach to take the job. Heupel has been paid well and been given every resource. And we just got embarrassed so badly that we should be questioning our coach. If I’m Danny White, I start putting out some feelers now. It’s been 2 years since our offense has been worth a ****. Flame away, I just think we could convince a good HC to take this job.
You should probably go to a meeting or atleast seek counseling

The sad part of this is Heupel's best offensive year... was with Pruitt's recruits. Hendon, Hyatt, Tillman, Jaylen, Darnell. Our passing game is light years from what it was 2 years ago. We slow our play down to get the "right" play call to watch half our receiving core run a damn hitch route while Nico is standing flat footed in pocket with no where to go. Passing game is BROKE. Sampson was literally the only bright spot on offense for us this year. I respect Nico's toughness and grit but we have to rethink what we're doing in the passing game.

We may need upgrades at a few position Coach's, but definitely not at HC. OL, DB and WR Coach's, most definitely. Heupel does need to retool his offense or add to it. We run the same few plays all the time. But he's definitely the right HC for us

I agree, which is exactly why I said we need to get Nico help, not call for Heupel to be fired.

Nico definitely needs help but schematically whether its the route tree or play call we have to switch something up with pass game. Defensively I wanna know what the heck the gameplan was. It looked like the gameplan was let OSU WR's get open then try to tackle after catch. Our defense made the QB look like a first rounder.. same crap they did with Beck. Guys literally running wide open whole game. Banks and Martinez should have to explain how they allow a QB to go 24-27. I'm not confident our offense could go 24-27 with routes on air. It's mind blowing how absolutely pathetic both sides of ball looked last night.

I’m with you there. I honestly can’t defend last night at all. The defense looked lost and our WRs either couldn’t get separation or our o-line didn’t give Nico any time. There’s a major talent discrepancy and it showed its ugly face last night.

Heupel doesn't need to be fired, he just needs to do a better job at player evaluation and realize we don't need to spend millions on high school players when we just got lit up by a 3* QB (Howard) when he came out of high school. It's all about player evaluation and development.

To be champion you have to have 100% buy in. This includes the fan base! You need to hit the portal

It very may well be an overreaction. My concern is we wait too long and the program becomes undesirable. I just feel we are in the position now to attract a home run guy.
Like who? Name him. You hiring Urban?

We just won 10 games for the 2nd time in four years. How many 10 win seasons have you seen in your lifetime?

Good luck with that hire, after you've fired a coach who inherited the mess Josh Heupel did .... and had 2 out of 4 ten win seasons.
Heupel 100% inherited a mess.. but his best offensive year was with the offensive players that mess left him. Schematically, talent wise, route tree, creativity, etc... Offense has looked dramatically different last 2 seasons.

I’m willing to bet Howard cost OSU several million

Like I keep saying ..... Good damn luck with that next hire, when a 30-9 record over the last 3 seasons at an SEC school isn't good enough. Nobody in their right mind is going to leave a good job for such unrealistic expectations.

A total sh-t show. Embarrassed that this team represented Tennessee in the CFP. Josh Heupel makes $9 mil/year and just received a $200k bonus for the crap we saw last night.

Unsure what changes need to be made, but changes must come. No pressure on the buckeye QB, our wideouts could not get open, LB coverage was pitiful.

Tennessee fans deserve better results for their investment. Great support is given, but not reciprocated by player effort. Shameful and inexcusable.

We were 1 of 12 teams left. Too bad we couldn’t win the Cheez It Bowl. Or poptart

It's about recruiting. Heupel has done great with talent he has...but he's not getting the 4 and 5 stars we need. We recruit 10-15th in country and funny...that's where we end up. That's why Fulmer hired Pruitt out of desperation. He was top recruiter in the country. We used to recruit top 3 and finished that way. You can only do so much with the classes we get and all this was exposed last night. Weird that our 5 star qb throws like a 3 star, but that's life. Until we start recruiting top 3 were gonna be a 10-15 ranked program.
