'24 TN DB Boo Carter (Tennessee)

We need to get okay with putting high level athletes on defense. This offense is going to work regardless as long as we have Heupel, having dudes on defense too is how you win championships.
But we ain't scorin eleventy five points a game this year! Fahr Hapel and the hole lot of em!

Has this year debunked this theory of our passing attack being elite with average receivers? Thank goodness for our stout run game this season or we’d be a very disappointed fan base.

It has honestly been exactly what I expected. I think the loss to Florida was difficult pill to swallow, esp because they suck, bad, and its amazing.

Joe was hurting. Now we know.

The team is showing improvement. Thornton is showing improvement. Backers are young and getting better.

Do wish we had shown flashes at WR sooner though. And it is disapointing that defense couldnt get a second half push against Bama. When you're less talented, you can get pushed off the ball on the road AND fight the refs.

All in all, we are doing good. We have to beat Misery.

I guess it depends on how you assign responsibility. There is an argument for fault between Joe, the WRs, and the play calling.

Joe has improved but he clearly isnt hooker. His first time leading the team all season.
The WRs are still hit or miss, have been all year. Really all three were new starters, Bru was the one returning but his injury threw that away.
Play calling hasnt been as flawless as it was last year. We arent keeping teams off balance like we did last year. Its still Heupels scheme but Hazle is a step down from what we had last year.

All our new at their jobs. And it's not like our WRs are garbage. They just arent lights out this year. I wouldnt use one year with a ton of transition to call anything.

Keyton isn’t a first year starter. Tillman missed 3/4 of last year and Keyton started in his place. The only significant win Tillman played in was Pitt. He might’ve played some against Georgia. Keyton started against Florida, Alabama, Clemson, Kentucky. He was a returning starter. So the only new starter was Squirrel, who did start the bowl game and has been UT’s best WR this year.

Carter...has compiled 1,145 all-purpose yards, including 55 catches for 911 yards and 12 TDs. The 5-11, 200-pounder also has two rushing TDs and returned two punts for scores, plus 71 total tackles, four for loss and an interception to help the top-ranked Bears to their first 10-0 regular season in 47 years and first region title since 1980.

I don't see how they keep Boo off of offense here. He is just too electric with the ball in his hands.

Boo catches anything in his vicinity and is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. It's about time we have a DB like that. Game changer. And don't forget punt returns. Championship teams have athletes of Boo's caliber playing defense.

He’s being recruited as a DB.

It’s been said numerous times in this thread.

Now, he may get a chance to play offense in the future but he’s strictly starting on defense.

The Rebels lost 37-14 at Bradley Central on Friday, marking the first time the marquee Class 6A program didn't advance to the quarterfinals in 28 years.
