'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

We aren't even reaching out and our current players are the ones pushing for the silent treatment. He done f'd up relationships during recruitment.
People are going to criticize Heupel if we don’t pursue him, but if he disrespected our current players and/or the DL coach I agree we shouldn’t bring him in. Managing a locker room is a dynamic most people don’t think about and know nothing about, but it starts with bringing in the right personalities.

A&M says he’s lazy and motivated only by money. He’s extremely talented, but I don’t want him on the team.

If we somehow get him, I’d root for him all the same, but I’d bet we don’t even try
When I watched him in high school he was lazy. He came across as one of those with talent and no heart.

Before he chose Texas A&M, Brent Hubbs said something like, "Whoever signs him will have an annual struggle to keep him out of the transfer portal."

It isn't necessarily a reflection of his character, but he does seem like the kind of player who bounces around. This was very predictable.

So he only leaves when Fisher gets canned but he seems like a player who bounces around? Yeah that makes sense. This was predictable? Sure it was. If Fisher didn’t get canned you think he jumps in the portal?

Only one bounce left….

Yes .... his transfer from Texas A&M shouldn't surprise anyone who followed his recruitment.

It starts by bringing in elite talent and winning football games. Its business. Practice needs to be harder than the games for us to win championships.

Why aren’t they saying that about our players that transfer? Wasn’t he there for 2 years? His coach got fired. He played and balled all year. Let’s get emotions behind us like we did with Cade and bring him home.

I'm sorry but F everyone that got their feelings hurt and their supposed bridge burned. If it helps us win ballgames, we better damn well pursue him. All this, he is lazy BS sounds like sour grapes. The dude was very good this year on the football field and that typically doesn't happen by being lazy. I trust the coaches on what they believe is best for our team but everyone who says we won't pursue because he burned a bridge needs to grow a pair because winning cures all (including those burned bridges).
So why be sorry?

He's not from Knoxville
He transfer his senior year specifically for football.
Don't think Knoxville is his "home"

Because that doesn’t fit the narrative that some of these people have created for Nolen. I mean you have posters bringing up crap like oh I seen him play in high school, he looked lazy. Or coach Garner didn’t like his work ethic. That was 2 years ago. To some of these people, players can’t change or improve.

Watch Nolen go to Bama and wreck shop. Then many will be saying I wish we would have gotten him.

His coach and the guy who recruited him got fired. You make it sound like an indictment in his character because he is transferring.

I literally said just the opposite of that. LOL.

And what is that NCAA stuff? The punishment on UT has already been determined; I don’t see anything pertinent to Nolen in there no matter how many bags of McD’s he enjoyed
It was an impermissible visit during the COVID dead period.

I don't know if this eliminates Tennessee as an option or not.

About 10%-20% of the posters on Volnation start denigrating recruits once they commit elsewhere. They start spreading made-up stories impugning the player's character and playing ability because he didn't commit to UT. That needs to stop. Now that the transfer portal exists, we will get second cracks at a lot more recruits than we did in the past.

This means nothing. We've already received NCAA punishment for NCAA violations committed by our previous coaching staff.

I dont want him tbh, he’s lazy, all about the money, and on his visit he Acted disinterested in anything RG was saying and was chewing gum blowing bubble’s in RG’s face. Plus the stuff tied to the NCAA
Yes bc lazy players put in the work to completely rework their bodies and become an All-SEC defensive lineman
