'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

No axe here. The kid that transferred is good. He did so to avoid the politics. We would be much better off focusing on Arch Manning or other options. Simpson is good but he is not a Trevor Lawrence talent. It’s not a huge loss.
No...

You recruit Simpson and Manning. You let the "politics" play out as they may if both come to Knoxville.

Better Athlete than Salter. 😂😂. Have u watched Salters film

They're both DT QBs.
Do you think because Salter is African-American, that he by default is the better "athlete "? Because there is nothing in their film to suggest Salter is more athletic...

Dabo has been pushing for a decision from Ty for the last month. You can also bet that during the interview process Tony Elliot got some feedback straight from Tennessee about the NCAA violations and what type of punishment they expect...and then took that straight to Dabo who is using it to recruit Ty away from Tennessee. Dabo puts on a good act, but he's really good at negative recruiting. Is that enough to overcome Ty's dreams of playing for Tennessee and now having a QB guru for a head coach? Hopefully not.
Ugghhh! I had not even factored in the Tony Elliott effect. You could be on to something here. Thanks for making my already confident, Clemson pick, a little more confident.🤬
GBO!!

I like to imagine that Danny made Elliott sign an NDA to get the goods on our investigation, took him out to a fancy steak dinner and, after some pleasantries, leaned in real close and said...

“Clemson sucks.”

These coaches don’t care about NDAs when it comes to negative recruiting. He can just hint that it’s ugly and not give exacts

AP had maintained Bama is biggest player

Blue-chip QB Ty Simpson previews his college decision

Also mentioned Jimbo Fishers son plays for his dad and “we’ll win a national championship there” 😬
Article definitely makes it sound like A&m is a bigger player than most think. I could see it. Doesn’t want to betray VN and go to Bama, but no Clemson because he wants to stay in the SEC. Still, from all reports and videos and family history - this kid wants to be a Vol and simply needs to not be given reasons to say no. Really think Heupel’s resume with QBs is all Ty needed. Vol

Vol. I choose to believe.

Mainly because him going to Clemson or Bama makes me want to puke.
I mean if he picks us over Clemson and Alabama, with the looming NCAA issues, new coach, one would think Alot ot recruits would take notice. Other kids want to a leader with giant cojones. And it is gonna take a kid like this to start something special and go peer recruit the talent we have in State this year.

I wonder if the quote from his dad about looking for what’s best for the “next 40 years” is a good sign for TN. They always talk about great opportunities for instate VFLs.

Side note: I think it would be worth it to sign his dad to the staff as an analyst or something

I thought we had a VN poster that went on the duck hunt with Ty and the others. Has he chimed in on the situation?

UT will not hv a chance with Arch. He’ll be the #1 qb in America and will choose a top 3 school

Simpson to Clemson makes sense in that they've had no coaching change, that 2 of their last 3 starting QBs are Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence, and that they will compete for titles every year.

Simpson to Alabama makes sense in that they are running a stat stuffing offense, Bill O'Brien can sell being an NFL coach, and they will compete for titles every year.

Simpson to UT makes sense in that he loves the school, grew up a fan, and now has a QB friendly head coach.

2 options are opportunities for titles, the other is an opportunity to help a rebuild. Will Ty go with head over heart? If he does, then he I don't think he commits to UT this month.

Ty,

If you read this please consider:

1. The deep tradition of UT Football
2. The players who have cemented their legacy in being Volunteers
3. The fanbase is without doubt, one of the best in the country
4. Be a part of the rebuilding, bring you talent, your drive and be the best at UT

Stay home young man and stamp your legacy with the Proud, Faithful Vol Nation. GBO

Alabama should have Bryce Young, a 5-star RSFR/SO take over next year.
Clemson should have DJ Uiagalelei, a 5-star RSFR/SO take over next year.

Question for Ty is how long does he want to sit and wait at these 2 schools. In addition and surprisingly, the better chance of playing for the same OC may be higher at UT than Alabama or Clemson, especially since Elliott is now looking for a HC position.
