Defense has just not been good. They have an amazing defensive coordinator ironically tho. The reason they're ranked higher by everyone this year is because they actually have some guys on defense now. Secondary is still very iffy tho and losing John Amofah Jr up front, who would've been one of the best 2027 recruits in the state, leave them a little vulnerable. That run game will legit be unstoppable and McCallie could be vulnerable up in the trenches this yearSaw him and David Georges play against Maryville the other day. Baylor has probably the best two running backs in the state on their roster. Crazy talent assembling down there. How do they keep losing to McCallie?!?
Losing John Amofah Jr was a big loss. Kid held his own and then some in D2AAA as a freshman. Their defense is much faster and more skilled this year though.Defense has just not been good. Maybe.I guess he looked at our running back room and said he to himself he had a better chance of playing at Ole Miss than Tennessee. I agree with that thought.
He's right in this scenario. Ole Miss fits him as well as anyone and believed in him a good bit before anyone else. And they did sell him on the fact that he'll get to play a lot super early and obviously Ole Miss naturally will be in the CFP hunt. Also important to remember he does not have the in-state ties beside being close enough to visit but he's going to be far from home wherever he goes. Great player, great kid that found an amazing opportunity for himself. Tennessee's RB room has the chance to be really deep with talent if they get who they want in 2026 (Savion Hiter, Jonaz Walton, and/or Ty'Riq Green). Should be anyway with Lewis, Seldon, etc.Let’s not sound like Ohio State fans..
I remember when we hadWe likely get our entire room back next year unless Sampson has an amazing season. It's not the best case for immediate playing time.
