To hell with tee!

Has anyone else ever dissed their school to this extent? What a piece of freaking garbage! It was one thing for him to publicly diss us in favor of the little weezle. But now to blatant bash one of the best talents our state has produced of late...USC has had to issue a formal apology because it's gotten so much publicity. I can't ever remember a school having to issue an apology to a high school kid. And of all people, Tee Martin. To everyone that defended him when he made a spectacle of us...what say you now?

i say.....13-0. i say.....national champion. i say.....one of the major reasons for the greatest season any of you will probably see in your lifetimes.

I'm sorry, but it was never T beating teams. It was the amazing team that led to victories. How did T do the next year when he was hyped as a Heisman candidate?

Look, there were any number of quarterbacks that could have led us to the championship that year. T was lucky enough to be the guy. Do I begrudge him that? No. But was he the instrument that led to the NC? Also, no.

Was our man Pey the instrument to the Memphis lost?
You know the business of connected of 23 of 40 passes for 298 yards, and throwing two interceptions—one of which was returned 76 yards.

What about Tee escaping a determined Syracuse defense to keep drives alive in a game we were pretty lucky to win?

Naw, QBs are instrument that lead to wins, loses, or NC. OK, it's clear to me now. :hi:

Should we give everyone that participated on that team a free pass to make a mockery of us? He didn't elevate the program to a championship contender like a cam Newton or Tim Tebow. The team and culture was already great. We just needed him to not make mistakes. He, like any other former player, shouldn't be out doing and saying things that negatively impact our program.

Damn. I didn't realize who it was that posted this. Doesn't it make you a little sick typing 13-0 and national championship? Haha. I guess yall have enough that you don't get jealous of our 1

He was in a private office. A hot mike picked up what was uttered. You too have said things in private that If made public would result in being attacked by someone with the same attitude you have. if he was out in public vilifying the UT, that would be different.
Let's not presume to be holier than thou.

Wonder what most of Tamaurice's fan base would be saying had Stoerner not fumbled that football?

OMG, Here we go again. UT is the only team in the history of the NCAA to get a break in a championship year. SMH. I'll never understand, never. Blame the worst hire in the history of football for Tee not being here.

The point should be that there is no way in hell Tee Martin could know whether he is soft and terrible or not. He certainly wasn't in the context of high school football, therefore how did Tee possibly come to this conclusion. Now if I said.....Tee Martin was a very average QB and probably would not have the job he has now if not for his teammates carrying him...that would be based on reality.

Unless Bray broke it (I seem to remember him coming close) then TM still holds the record at UT for the most consecutive completions. He threw a perfect ball that was eventually the margin of victory for the NC game.

I'd say that's well above avg.

Unlike most of you, I don't make any assumptions about what TM does or does not know about Hurd. It is my suspicion that his comment was sour grapes because Hurd didn't listen to them.

BUT I also make no assumptions about how "great" Hurd is going to be or whether in fact his is/isn't soft. I don't know and there is NOTHING you can derive from his HS career that will PROVE it either way. Starting soon, we will see.

It's more than just this one quote. Imo the worst thing he's done is the interview/publicity stunt.

What you're doing with this thread opens Tennessee to more mockery than most things I've ever seen. It's just silly. Sounds like the mean girl who's date left her at the prom so she goes and gets all her mean girl friends to attach him on facebook.

Grow up, give it a rest and quit being an embarassment to the great state of Tennessee.

This post makes me wish Al Wilson would publicly call AJ Johnson slow.

Let me see if I got this right...

1) Tee Martin still won a National Championship at the University of Tennessee.

2) Tee Martin is currently employed as a football coach at USC, a school, that some on here absolute despise and not solely because Lane Kiffin was a coach there. Regardless, he gets his checks from USC, not UT.

3) Tee enjoys his first amendment rights; however, we still don't have confirmation that he was the one who made those comments about Hurd nor did he mention UT in a negative light. In fact, these comments were supposed to be private. No mention of UT doesn't mean he's disrespecting UT or the program either.

And finally,

4) BUTTHURT fans are BUTTHURT on VOLNATION..

If that's correct, then move on everyone. Nothing more to see here than the butthurt flowing. For those who are butthurt, may I recommend some Preparation H suppositories?

Anyway, GO VOLS!

Many more people agree with me than you as is evident by the likes. And not sure why you're being such an azz hole to me. It's not like I went out on national TV and dissed the hell out of our top incoming recruit or anything

I would venture to say the Volnation is thinking about this issue a lot more than Jalen Hurd is. Some schools a lot better than USC offered Hurd scholarships as well. Bottom line is who cares what Tee said? Tee's opinion is going to have zero impact on team 118. The only place it is going to have an impact is on this message board.

What was said will seem like a hug from granma to most players compared to what their own coaches are gonna be screaming come spring practice.

A Dumb and Dumber line. Nice..

Thanks. Hey, I guess they're right. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me!

The most important part here is that Tee's comment was posted on the official USC website-not a random hot mike in the privacy of a room that no one was suppose to hear. It was tapped in a room for dissemination to the public, and the broadcast publicly. Such a comment about any recruit in an area being taped for later public purposes is totally unprofessional. Why he would even make that remark about a recruit signing should give anyone pause at the intentions of the person making the remark.

I don't care if the remark was made when the person making it knew the mike was hot at the time or not. Of course they knew mikes were in the room. Dosen't matter.
He made the remark because in his opinion, after being injured in the first game of his senior season, Jalen Hurd has not played one snap in a real game (possibly even practice) and has been rehabbing. He has NO senior season highlight reels to evaluate him. As a player, right now, at this time, he IS "soft". If I were to make a list of all of this years recruits; those who finished their HS career without injury would be "hard". Those who were injured would be "soft". I'd try to fill my roster with "hard" players except for instate athletes like Jalen who bring more of the 'Give my all for Tennessee' attitude and I hope he gets back 110% of what he showed in his junior season highlight reels.
You guys are making sooo much more of what happened than approaches reality its crazy. I'm going back to talking about football. Hope this thread dies a quick death.
