I can't see Martin drastically changing his mind about asking out in one visit.
If he adamantly refused to allow the coaches to come meet with him, then I would probably go ahead and release him. However, I don't know how realistic that is. I would imagine that most of the time a recruit in Jones and Ware's situation would at least be willing to sit down with the new coach of the team they signed with in making their decision.
It is a douche move to make someone honor a commitment? I guess UT should release every player who wants to leave for whatever reason. Period. No questions asked.
Thus, UT isn't asking. They're strongarming. Good move. I'm sure Brian Gregory is loving getting UT pissing off the Atlanta Celtics folks as a present his first week on the job.
I disagree. If he adamantly refused to meet with the new coach, I would not release him. Asking for a meeting prior to the release to meet the new coach and listen to his recruiting pitch is not at all unreasonable. Refusal to even meet and talk would be unreasonable and would result in no release in my book.
I'm sure you mean Jones and Ware. But, I think it might make more difference than what you think considering he's never spoken to the man face to face. And, it may not, but I would be willing to bet that a prospective recruit would at least be willing to listen most of the time.
that's what most classy programs do. who made you god to decide what is a valid reason and what isn't?
