I admire him...and all that he has stood for.

"Quiet Strength" is a book worth reading.

I wish him the best of luck.

I agree. Tony Dungy is definately someone I admire and hope that he has great success in the endeavors that he and his family will embark on.

His book was absolutely moving....I wish I had his strength and faith.

Doubt it... Dungy handpicked Caldwell to be his successor, so I imagine they'll honor that.

Dungy will be back within 2 or 3 years.

Kiffin should make a few calls to Indy.

1) Clyde Christensen WR Coach
2) Alan Williams DB Coach
3) Ricky Thomas TE Coach

As a coach myself, and a Christian as well....it is very difficult for me not to raise my voice.

I just wonder how well he could keep from yelling at a group of 15-18 year olds?! Ha...

One of the nicest guys that has EVER been in sports peroid. Meet him and talked with him many of times at Colts camp and he treats everyone as if he's known you forever. Class act, I wish we could have won him a few more Super Bowels but at least we got him one. He'll be missed, enjoy your family and your life Tony.

I heard someone close to Tony on ESPN today say people would be shocked at What he is going to do in the next part of his career to be in a position to mentor and to help build character among young men. Any ideas what that might be?

I could see him starting up some kind of program for kids that didn't involve a football field.

If I were a Colts fan I'd probably be glad to see him go. Considering the teams he's had, a 9-10 record in the postseason is terrible.

"Dungy has taken the Colts to the playoffs in each of his seven years with the team. The Colts won the 2006 Super Bowl. He has an 85-27 regular-season record and is 7-6 in the post-season."

"The Colts have won at least 10 games in each season under Dungy and won five straight AFC South titles from 2003-07."

"Dungy is the only coach in league history since the merger to take a team to the playoffs in 10 consecutive seasons."

Dungy reportedly quitting Colts - UPI.com

yes. good riddance to that guy.

A Super Bowl ring, 10 consecutive playoff seasons---obviously the guy's a joke.

I found a photo of Vercingetorix, if anybody's interested---

Great. They do well during the regular season. They looked like they were playing their first preseason game when they met up with the Chargers. There were some pretty stupid coaching decisions in that game, too. They have frequently been unprepared for the playoffs. All the regular season success you cited should translate to postseason success. The Colts have gone down in their first playoff game way, way too many times.

Agreed. Dungy is a great guy, not the coaching giant he is being made out to be today. The media can't wait to crown him king, but underachievement was a hallmark of his career.
