Not true, Saban was as Ala as they come.
Will Alabama wander in the wilderness again?
After Bear Bryant, Alabama hired Ray Perkins, Bill Curry, Gene Stallings, Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price, Mike Shula all before Saban.
Interesting fact: Bryant, Stallings, Shula, and Saban all lost their final game in Neyland?
I would like to make this observation; Dooley once (in)famously stated that we fans were „looking for Rommel“. In a Sense, Saban WAS Rommel. You hated him because he was the enemy; but you respected him because he was an absolute master of his craft.
Correct, but you’re also describing Nick Saban when he was hired at LSU and urban when he was hired at Florida. Neither of those guys had any connection whatsoever to the south or the SEC. Good coaches will find a way to be successful no matter where they coach.
no way would sark go. In terms of facilities Texas is at least as good as bammer. In terms of location...much....and I can't stress this enough....MUUUUCCCCCHHHHHH better! Same with the money aspect (think NIL).That's false. They aren't going to hire whoever they want. Clearly Smart is the best hire. Not happening. I'd argue Sark is number 2. Don't know if he'd go.
And who would that be? Saban and Mel Tucker aren't exactly available. You'd think they'd pick someone who didn't lose to Michigan.

Chryst? Seriously? Sonny Dykes? C'mon.
Day and Smart aren't moving to Bama.
There's a few more, I think, but it's not like Michigan has been losing to everybody, ya know? Who would you suggest?
