I hate to bring up the negatives, but how many times she missed easy layups, how many times she could t catch a pass or had the ball snatched out of her hands by small guards?
I hear you, but in her last fully healthy season, she was in the 96th percentile in the NCAA for points per play and points per shot attempt, 97th percentile for effective field goal %, and 99th percentile for overall field goal %. Last season, Striplin was in the 90th percentile for FG% and EFG%, but no other post player came anywhere close to Tamari's numbers. Compare that to say, Kamilla Cardoso or Angel Reese, and and a healthy Tamari's still ahead of both of them in most of those categories.
For turnovers, in 2021-22, Tamari averaged 2.6 TOs per 40 minutes and an 18.6% TO rate. Compare that to Hollingshead (3.2 and 18.5%), Striplin (2.4 and 16.0%), and Franklin (2.5 and 16.6%), and it's not really any worse than what we had last year. Again, to compare to Cardoso or Reese, Cardoso is at 2.3 and 11.6%, and Reese is on par with 2.6 TOs per 40 minutes though only had a 10.0% TO rate. Our posts in general seem to have a higher TO rate but it seems unfair to fault Tamari, as it seems to be more of a problem with the system, or as others have noted, how our guards make entry passes.
