Going to Wake Forest and staying for 3 seasons (despite many thinking she should bolt for a bigger program) tells me that Jewel dances to the beat of her own drummer; it would be great to know her reasons for leaving WF, and what she wants in her new school/program. We just don't know her objectives (yet).

I thought her reason would be to go to a program with a better chance to win and also more visibility for a player. I can see going to the right program helping her get noticed more cause she has game and will be huge for the school that gets her.

Remember Hannah Hanson that we were looking at one time last year. She is in the transfer portal out of California Riverside.

Got only nine minutes playing time there.

That could very well be the reason. But, less than one year ago, Wake unexpectedly fired their head coach late in the offseason; would have been a perfectly reasonable time/reason for Jewel to enter the transfer portal after 2 seasons; but, she decided to stay despite the head coaching change.

I’m not sure. She only played in November as well. Wondering if she has an injury?

I’ve yet to see that confirmed but have seen her on numerous lists in the thread. Pretty sure wishful thinking at the moment.

She is visiting SC this weekend…..doubt any announcement is imminent. Who knows however, only Ms. Morrow does. For what it is worth, as I have said before, she is a great player, but as a SC fan I actually do not see the best fit there and hope she goes elsewhere, and yeah, some will say that is stupid. I can live with that.I want Watkins and Feagin to get prime time minutes now and see what they can do, would rather they not lose minutes to a transfer. Same for Kitts and Hall.

My reasoning on that situation with Morrow has been posted before, I simply think she will do better elsewhere and SC will be better off as well. We good, let the ball roll where it may now. Could care less if she goes to LSU either. If that happens, watch how the rock is shared……SC is rebuilding now anyway, so we need to let the young players grow for a season. SC is building for the year after anyway. Again, “We good”….9 AA’s that all need PT and development. SC will be a force in 2024-25. They will be competitive next year as well while developing.

I understand your concern, however “better schools” is subjective to what the player is looking for in academics and bball program.

I've also heard that Spear was on campus.
