'24 Transfer Portal

No, it was down right dirty regardless how some of you try to spin it. Maybe wait for the full picture to become clear. Don't hand out an offer you aren't willing to honor. To rescind an offer 4 days later is messed up and was unnecessary.

You don’t want to sit back and wait. Not a good strategy. What if another TE they valued didn’t enter the portal and they weren’t able to add any? That would be a terrible strategy.

It’s not dirty. It’s recruiting. That’s what kids sign up for when they hit the portal. Priorities change. Put ya big boy pants on and keep it moving.

Maybe you’re saying all recruiting is a dirty business. That’s not necessarily untrue. Cut-throat business. Can guarantee any business where this type of money is involved will be cut-throat.

If they had allowed him to visit and then moved on? Then I’d get the righteous outrage. You act like there was some blood oath following the OFFER. Plans change dude, take the tacks out ya palms and scoot off the freaking cross!
In the world I live in, an offer is a leagal contract. You can't just go around making promises. And its just not the right thing to do. It bad business. I tend to want to support programs who do things the right way.

But I've learned there's many here who gladly turned a blind eye during Pruitt's recruiting shenanigans. It was clear as day he was cheating getting the recruits he was as quickly as he did. And he was from Bama. But everyone turned a blind eye to it until we wanted him gone.

Failing to consider Joly might be asking for more $$$ that we have him rated for. So it's wrong to assume the staff made a dirty move when we have absolutely zero idea what happened behind the scenes.
I will admit this is a fair point. But the quick response seems to be Staes was always the staff's priority.

An offer is not a legal contract. Just like accepting an offer is not a legal contract. Especially, in the recruiting world.

What happened to 4* Branson Robinson? Or 4* Roderick Robinson? I think both are still on the roster. Maybe they were getting redshirted?
Branson missed the season with a torn patellar tendon (not a great injury for a RB). Roderick played sparingly, but only played in 4 games so he can redshirt.

Football ain't your world, then Leagal Beagle. Hard decisions have to be made, rescinded, altered and maybe made again pretty much yearly. There was no NIL under Pruit, so it was CHEATING.. Now there's legit ways of doing the same thing and remaining aboveboard. I personally don't have the stomach to make these tough calls...that's why I'd suck at the job. The sooner you realize that you're also inept in your mentality towards building a program, the sooner you'll be able to relax your sphincter. All the teams in the playoffs and right on the periphery have disappointed kids. Heupel merely didn't waste his time with a pointless visit.

I get this is a business, but all becuase you run one doesn't mean you have to be a d*** about it. And it doesn't mean you are free from scruitiny by how you operate

You don't get to say this this program is a family, and that we have a family atmosphere, and then go and do this to a kid. Sorry. And it wasn't just some bum kid either. Joly was top 5 in the nation for receiving yards by a Tight End. He'll do well. But it is a slap in the face to the fans who blew the kid up online as well.

There’s no legit program that runs by your fantasy. I guess they’ll have to live under the ominous specter of that “scrutiny”.

Nothing’s been DONE to him. They didn’t club him in the knee…they withdrew an offer. If he balls out at another program (and there’s a strong possibility of such), there will be references to how this was botched. If he doesn’t there won’t. Ever been “slapped” online? It almost itches. 😩

No. UT cancelled it
Depending on which is true, if he does go to UGA, balls out and beats the brakes off our DBs, then I’m going to have to really question who in the world is making these silly assumptions that “x player doesn’t fit our system”…if in fact that happened. If he just simply chooses UGA, then okay.
