It's interesting that Athlon is reporting OM is joined by Bama, Georgia, and Texas in pursuing Tyler Baron. If true, he's more highly thought of than many of us give him credit for.

If there’s a missing piece to our recruiting that’s not money related, I don’t know what that could be. Certainly don’t think uf, miami, auburn have anything of utmost importance that we don’t have. Maybe occasionally distance from home a factor? Or a position coach with a long relationship. I dunno.

All I know is big time talents at position of need enter and go elsewhere without mention of involvement from us. Then we hear we’re looking for the Cody shraeders of the world, which are fewer and farrer between with less likelihood to pan out. So yeah I’d like to see us more aggressive in the portal in getting top talent and I’d like to see us close on some recruits that we supposedly lead for and could have been difference makers for the program.

Then wait till AT LEAST the early window closes before shedding tears and prognosticating inefficiencies in this area. We seem to be winning some big retention battles which will impact the mix too. Big O is a big win and if Cooper jumps back in, our need for Sr and grad transfers at those positions is reduced as well. I am SPECULATING that we have some DB’s that have not announced but have winked at our staff to explain lack of retention efforts at those positions, you know the high character type that don’t want to cut and run on current teammates for a bowl game. Seems CJH like.

Does not have to be outrageous, just above a value we feel good to go with in that room as it is constructed. Not our shallowest room. Hate it if he ends up at a competitor but really think he is draft bound. If I had to choose between him and Big O, I like our priorities.

There's no way the secondary we put on the field vs nc state could be worse that what we watched the last 5 games or so this year. We may make some mistakes early on due to inexperience, but should be more athletic. This year's group was SLOW

Couldn't agree more. DT way more of a need at this point and we have solid players returning at SDE. Rumor was he got what, $250K last year? Wouldn't mind him returning but I would like to see more of West next year and eager to see what Weathersby does.

I would bet a large amount of money the narrative on here would be that we are killing it and we have a ton of excited people…however I would argue we would be in a much worse position than we are right now.

Baron had his best year last year, but he makes a ton of silly penalties to go along with it. He lined up off sides or jumped a lot. No doubt he is a good sec player but we have a lot of talent there as well. And if he doesn’t want to be here he needed to go. We will survive. GBO

And? McCall has been feasting on weak competition and is the definition of a system QB. Joly? Is he good? Yep. As good as the TEs we face on a yearly basis? Nope. You being scared of McCall and Joly is laughable.
