Look at how they are calculating these "savings."

They are including the cancellation of blanket purchase agreements as being cancelled orders of goods and services, rather than being negotiated agreements with contractors who MIGHT provide future services. These Trump cultists believe every word they are told by Trump and his administration without ever applying any critical thinking or scrutiny at all.

Both things can be true

DOGE is for political show and to take $$$ from D waste and give it to R priorities (one that cant pass an audit)

Biden and Dems left a fiscal mess with apending

And DOGE is an authoritarian power grab to dismantle the American oversight apparatus and dissolve our federal system of checks and balances .... with some degree of red meat for the Trump cultists thrown in as well.

Didn't go back as far as LBJ, but he should be mentioned in any historical discussion.

..... and I will maintain that selling arms to the Ayatollah and GWB's lies about Iraqi WMD's were more consequential than anything you can say about Obama or Biden.

But ordering the assassination of an American Citizen is a pretty brutal break from the Constitution.

Biden’s entire Presidency was a scandal.

Question since you deep in this...if a BPA is canceled that says runs thru the end of the fiscal year had a potential payout of 10 billion...only 1 billion has been paid out..and before the next order was due it was canceled..now the immediate savings are zero. But against the 2 trillion goal of doge in the 1st year, then that is a saving against the goal of 9 billion correct?? Unless you argument is that it's not saving because it wasn't spent??? Even tho we all know if left in place it would have been..just wana make sure I understand this part of your argument.

I am not talking about interest but about Biden raiding the Treasury starting Trump out in a hole.

Trump signed about 7 trillion of US debt and 7 divided 27 trillion puts Trump as .259%. If it were not for COVID the left and Chinese got started and for the resulting stimulus checks Trump would be at .11%

It would still be a savings.

On my production line, if I run a lean event on a manufacturing part that has been experiencing 30% waste that will amount to $250K loss over the next 9 months, and the results reduce waste to 7% and $225K savings, it is still a savings because we prevented a loss that would have been incurred unchecked. I get to claim that as a savings.

That's what I'm trying to figure out if they're looking for just immediate savings or whether they realize that doge is putting out that 105 billion against the long-term goal of the two trillion savings that will take at least a year to recoup. It's a confusing situation and given that his attack was on BPAs, I was just looking for clarification..

If it has been appropriated, retracting it would be a savings. If it's in the budget, culling it would be a savings. If it's a money laundering agency, shutting it down and revamping it would be a savings. You can't save what has already been spent.

Yea I think cutting a BPA which has already spent 1 billion on a 10 billion BPA is a 9 billion is saving over a year long BPA...now should Doge claim that as a 9 billion dollar savings??? Against their 2 trillion goal I think yes...as immediate IDK??? Because it is marked to be spent hut isn't actually paid out yet

I don't see why they couldn't. It was already appropriated money to be spent. In contrast a killed proposal for a program that is requesting X dollars would not be a savings. It should only count savings on money already staged to fleece the taxpayer.
