Are you saying that a program with a BPA isn't going to spend the total amount in the BPA over the contract?? What happens next time the negotiate if they don't spend it all??? Would they get more to spend or less??? I thought this was commonly understood especially in government.please expand on your thought on how doge is or is not saving money on their fiscal goal of 2 trillion..not immediate savings.

I sincerely hope that you aren't as gullible as you seem .... No adult should be this naive.

Much of this is just projection. I have been far more critical of Democrats, including Joe Biden, than what the Trump cult could ever bring themselves to be of Trump. I have always said that Joe Biden represents everythig which is wrong with the United States government. Biden is a career politician with no principles and with flexible values. Biden's policies shift with changes in the political current. He is an empty suit. The only good part of Trump taking office ..... is that it means Biden is gone.

As far as being a troll .... that's ridiculous. I have been a member of this site for over 11 years, and I post in the sports forums more than I post in here. I was born and raised in Knoxville and I'm a 1996 graduate of the University of Tennessee. I would put my "Vol-hood" up against anyone's ..... would a political troll go through the trouble of posting as much as I have in the sports forums? Dumb.

This link covers many of the ways in which the DOGE is inflating the amount of savings that their downsizing is doing. Now, to be clear, I think that some periodic restructuring is always healthy. However, the DOGE is being dishonest with how much money they are actually going to save American taxpayers.

Read the NBC News article, and you should be able to better understand how the DOGE is wildly inflating the amount of money that will be saved by their restructuring initiatives.

Basically, the DOGE doesn't have an understanding of what a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) is .... From that NBC News article that I have linked :

"The federal database for government spending lists a contract value for BPA's that is referred to as a "ceiling," which DOGE appears to be using as the "value" on its wall of receipts.

That "ceiling" can vastly exceed agencies' actual spending. DOGE lists six $100 million contracts from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on management consultants. The agency wasn't planning to spend $600 million, however: all are BPA's for the same work, according to federal records, giving the bureau a list of vendors to choose from when it needs to outsource consulting services."

^^^^ So, with this one thing alone, ^^^^ the DOGE has inflated their "savings" by a minimum of $500 million, because they (absurdly) included the ceiling price for the same work all 6 times. That is just stupid. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was obviously not going to hire all 6 contractors. They were going to hire one contractor for one specific job at a maximum price of $100 million. The BPA's simply gave the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau a list of 6 contractors to choose from with prices listed for each one, so they would know which one was more cost effective. When DOGE cancelled the BPA's for all 6 individual contractors, they included the ceiling price for all 6 as being immediate savings. There are not words in the English language sufficiently strong enough to describe how stupid that is.

The DOGE is either dishonest or they have people who don't know what the hell a BPA is .... and in the line of work they are doing (federal auditing), that is inexcusable.

You cant completely toss FY20 and first 4 months of FY21 out. Was going to run close to 2T in defcits those 16 months without COVID.

He was just shy of 3.5T from 1/2017 to 3/2020. He ran 750B in defcits the first 5.5 months of F20 and would have run another 1.4-1.5T the rest of his term if COVID never happened.

4.9T/27T = 18%, not .11%
