Just go Google at will employment it’s that simple. Companies absolutely have the right to impose conduct policies and do so all the time. Had I been in DC when this occurred I would have ran the other way as fast as I can I don’t want to deal with the paperwork even though I knew I would have done nothing wrong. But that is my specific case working for a defense contractor with a clearance. I’ve had to curb several basic freedoms in order to maintain that. It’s no biggie I was paid very well to do so.
If anybody was merely present IN the Capitol and not charged with a crime and then fired for exercising their right of assembly I think there could be some valid lawsuits.
At this point, I honestly don't know if you're saying the at will employer can legally fire them or not.
