Trump's new Cabinet - Guesses & Nominations

I think Vance would be DoA in the next election if DJT mucks this term up.
I agree. Much like Kamala he wouldn’t be able to detach himself from his bosses failures. BUT if Trump delivers, JD looks good as well.

Lots of IFs. Unfortunately I’m not so sure Trump makes it to the end of his term. 2 assassination attempts. I’d be foolish not to think more are on the way. I pray that’s not the case. But it’s not a far fetched statement.

I understand.
Is innocent until proven guilty what we do or not?

I didn't know anything about the dude until tonight. The source I read was Newsweek.
If that was Nico Iamaleava in Gaetz shoes, would we trust investigators or what the girl and friend said?

Being serious here.

That report should be made public before Matt Gaetz becomes the Attorney General of the United States.
The article I read says they dont do that because he's out of their [jurisdiction...they used another term but I cannot recall it right now].

I'd say don't nominate him for Attorney General of the US until he's been cleared

Yes, he should be considered innocent of the charges until proven guilty. The sketchy legal issues are the disqualifier for the most powerful law enforcement person in the country. My Goodness, there are thousands of conservative Republicans more qualified than him. We both know why that huge pool of qualified candidates aren't mentioned for the job

There is. I understand that to be an ethics investigation and not a criminal investigation. Is that your understanding?
Which we may never know the results of that investigation. House ethics committee can only investigate sitting members. He resigned as soon as he was nominated. Convenient

That's for the courts in criminal trials. When we're appointing an AG, I think a higher standard is in order. There shouldn't be smoke like this for a public office like that. Doesn't compare to Nico, a teenager, keeping his scholly.

In the justice system, judges instruct grand jurors on the importance of secrecy during the indictment, specifically mentioning the destruction and impact allegations can have, even if there are no charges actually brought against a defendant.

I think that is appropriate. If there is not enough to charge, I don’t know why/how the specifics of the allegation matter, or why they should be disclosed, other than to just destroy a person’s reputation.

True again.

Which means, to me, we default to the criminal investigation.

Don't like the dude. Say he's a bad fit. Call him a pedo if you want. It's all good with me.

I've "known" you a long time and you are usually very consistent when facts are presented.

If this was our player, we'd be livid in his smearing (I think).
Yes, I went too far. Cleaned it up

I'm not so certain we have a good track record of knowing why things are/are not done.

Ever been here in a coaching search?😁

They are trying to shoehorn him in without that report being a part of the Senate confirmation hearings. That won't wash. I can't imagine the moderate Republicans voting to confirm him without seeing that report.

He was investigated and they recommended not prosecute. Which proceeds the criminal trial. In fact, I think investigators have a much lower standard than innocent until proven guilty.
